TOPIC: Reducing drop timer in ssrp

Server Name: SSRP

Suggestion Title: Reducing the drop timer from 1 min to 45 secs

How would it benefit the server: It would make the drop command useful for special weapons since why drop it when you can holster it and not run the of "losing" the item by not being able to pick it up or it dropping a wall

Potential Issues/Exploits: The current ones but they're negated by holster and drop being the same time (1min)
like dropping the gun in a wall or being killed before being picked up

That would push players to spend money and maybe heal a little bit the economy.

Why not use holster? the only reason people used /drop with special weps was because it took half as long to do than to holster.

Hi Butterman, unfortunately we won't be changing this back because from our discussions we found the drop command was only ever used to avoid the longer holster timer and resulted in people sometimes losing weapons unintentionally to other players picking them up or them falling down somewhere they didn't expect. By ensuring more people use holster instead we avoid this problem.

Xeronise wrote: The point is there is a risk and a reduced time , you trade time for a bigger risk of losing the item, if it does fall down out of the map or someone else picks it up your the one who made that decision it’s so sad how just because a few people high up get salty they can’t rip weapons before the person drops and picks them up does not mean they get to choose.
If you really want the best for the community make a poll and which ever decision has the majority of votes should be picked.
