I've also noticed that I have to skip certain f1's as a moderator because only admins or super admins can do them. I also noticed how annoying it is to freeze people with the tab menu instead of just being able to use the physics gun. Punishment evaders are also annoying to deal with, because I have to contact an admin to punish them for me because they logged out. Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user): As a moderator I've often experienced players walking away from me during a sit or when trying to talk to them. Being able to quickly freeze them with the physics gun would allow my f1's to be faster and smoother. If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?: Warning: Spoiler! [ Click to expand ][ Click to hide ] Congratulations on becoming a Staff member on Zarp ! I will explain the moderator commands and how to use them correctly. The basic commands, which you are going to use the most: Warnings. type /warn <Steam ID> <Reason> to warn a player. Use this if someone breaks a serious rule or if you've given them a verbal warning already on minor rules. Teleport type /tp <name> to teleport a player to the location you are looking at. Back type /back <name> to teleport the player back to his last position. Goto type /goto <name> to goto a player ( teleport to him). Freeze Go to your TAB Menu, go to the player's profile and click on freeze and the time. You can also type /freeze <name> <time> Unwarn If you accidentally warned someone you can unwarn him again. Type /unwarn <name or steam id> Now some more commands which are used more rarely. Bring type /bring <name> to bring a player to your location. (I just use the tp) Slay type /slay <name> to slay the player ! Use this if you need to slay someone. For example, you are building for a TDM Event and someone managed to sneak into your base. You can't get out easily to TP the player and he refuses to leave. Instead of kicking you could slay him. Kick type /kick <name> to kick a player. If there's no Admin online and you need them to be banned, you simply kick them to prevent them from breaking more rules ( Mass Rulebreakers as example here) and ask Admins to come online You may need some practice to use them correctly. After some time you will use these commands without even thinking about it. It's all about experience. You can bind some commands to make it easier and faster. For example you can bind your TP command to teleport yourself quickly. Open your console and type : bind key t "say /tp <own Steam ID> . Now you only have to aim with your mouse and click T to teleport yourself. once again, congratulations and good luck! Explain how you would handle the following situation: Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for propspam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be? I would discuss it with an admin. Depending on how apologetic he sounds and how long he's been banned for already, his ban will be shortened. The other admin will then reply on his appeal. Why I should be promoted I've been playing on this server for 3 years, and I've enjoyed my time as a moderator. I feel like this promotion will allow me to be much quicker with my f1's and make them easier to handle. Furthermore, this promotion will allow me to take on f1's that aren't possible for moderators to handle (e.g. unowning doors). It will also allow me to deal with massive rulebreakers and punishment evaders immediately, without having to contact an admin to punish them later (which can be difficult when on server 1). Also I'm a pretty swell guy love you all shoutout to my lads |
