Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario:
Random Death Match (RDM) is when a player randomly kills another player without a valid reason. This also counts towards attempted murders that were also unprovoked and without a valid reason, although this is known as 'attempted RDM'
Example: Player A is recently released from prison, and proceeds to kill the police officer, Player B, in an act of revenge for being arrested. Player B did not provoke Player A to do this in any way.
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario:
NLR prevents a player from returning to the district they were murdered in for 3 minutes. An exception can be made if a player is
forced to pass through that district, but they are not allowed to interact with any players or items in that district. If they are able to access the district they are trying to get to without passing through the district they died in this would also cause them to break NLR.
Example: Player A is killed in Rich District during a raid, but then returns to that same district directly after being killed to try and stop the raid again. This would cause Player A to break the NLR
Explain how you would handle the following situation: Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x.
I would firstly teleport player y and player x to a sit, and then ask player x why he killed player y. If player y gives an appropriate side of the story, I would then ask player x to counter what player y said, and to provide further evidence (such as a screenshot or video) of the RDM. If valid evidence is given then I would give player y a warn and instruct them not to do it again, then return both players to their original position. If no evidence and counter claim can be given I would apologize to both players and return them to their original position, with no warning given.
Explain how you would handle the following situation: Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time. I would teleport both players to a sit and request they both tell me their sides of the story. I would then ask player x for evidence against player y, and if valid evidence is given I would issue a warning to player y and instruct them not to break NLR again, then return them both to their original positions. If player x cannot give any viable evidence I would again return them to their original positions and would not issue a warning.
Why I should be chosen (we recommend around 150 words): I believe I should be chosen because I genuinely want to help people. Too many people are negative towards the staff team on the servers, and I want to change their opinion. If anybody asks a question in OOC or on the forums, I always attempt to assist them in the best way that I can! (check my posts on the forums to check!). I feel I am light hearted and a generally cheerful person (although if needed I can be serious), frequently trying to make others laugh. I am extremely active and dedicated on the servers and forums, being online every single day. Also, due to my time zone, I am able to be online a lot earlier than other members of staff and I will make sure the server remains fun for players and assist other members of staff throughout the day. I have no recents and have made many new friends on Zarp, some old players and some new who have given me a vast knowledge of Zarp, from ways to assist newer players to item prices! Despite this I am also ALWAYS open to ANY criticisms or improvements you could give me! I know I am a newer player, but I feel I have sufficient knowledge of Zarp and I plan to stay with this community for many more years to come!
Thank you for reading my mod application, and I hope you have a good day!
