Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin:
Since I've became moderator I've encountered many situations which I can handle better when I'm an admin, having to wait for an admin to jail someone, ban someone are just the tip off the iceberg, furthermore I'd like to keep my eye out better.
Now I have to follow someone or ask a admin to spectate that person, which can be really annoying, as well as having to middleman for people, who are sometimes waiting 30+ minutes to be helped.
When dealing with loads of RDMers it's easier to physgun them instead of tab>player>freeze, in the meantime they've killed 5 other people already, as well as taking people to a roof, which can make the F1 go easier and faster.
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user):
Someone who RDMed two people and I'd rather put in jail then warn them. Whenever I get a person who is mass rulebreaking and whenever I kick them, they rejoin(the two guys who were impersonating me) I'd rather give them some time off.
Checking out a base and a guy won't open his doors to see if he has raidable entities with a building sign.
A lot of unfrozen props and no admins in the server.
If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?:
Congratulations on becoming a staff member on ZARP!
Of course you want to start of right away, but how I hear you thinking? Well I will tell you in short sections!
F1
Hey, when you press F1 you'll see a complete new menu! This is your menu where F1 reports will come in, you can check the latest warnings and the logs.
You can search in all of it as well by using the top right corner search bar!
Commands
/tp - Teleports you to the location you are aiming at or /tp <steamID>/<name> to teleport a player!(Don't use their name, since it could tp more people if they got similar names/same name)
/freeze - use this to freeze a player by using /freeze <steamID> OR /freeze <name>(this one I don't recommend since if a player has a space in it's name it might freeze everyone in the server with a space in their name)
/warn - You do this to warn someone! /warn <steamID> <reason>
/unwarn - Made an accident or want to unwarn someone? Use this /unwarn <steamID>
/back - Will teleport you back to your last location!
/slay - Slays the person, let's say he won't drop or holster his weapon(as a mutant) and it's not a severe rulebreak, so you don't want to warn him for it, then a nice little slay will do
<steamID>/<name>
/kick- This will kick the player from the server.
The commands are nifty, but I suggest you use the tab menu and click on their name, since you won't make any mistakes then
Warnings
You warn someone for a rulebreak in a way you think that's appropriate.
A verbal first? Sure, that's nice if it's a little mistake, they repeat doing it? Warn them then!
Use @ or /// to chat in admin chat to get any help or tell things which aren't meant for users to know.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for propspam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
Thanks for making a ban appeal, I've had a look in to it and decided to LOWER your ban to 1 week.
Propspammers are not fun to play with, neither is it allowed to propspam, I suggest you read the rules to prevent more warnings or bans, enjoy your stay on ZARP,!
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 150 words).
From my experience I can't catch rule breakers good enough, rather jailing someone then warning them, spectating people who you know they're going to break a rule or I can't no clip into a base when it has a report of raidable entities with a building sign up.
I'm a very friendly person and always in for a word if we disagree on something, talking politely is the best way to handle any situation.
Since I've became a moderator I've helped many people and heard nothing but positives, even from the rulebreakers themselves, I handled the situations in a good way and help out with F1s all the time, I have done over 500 F1s since I became a moderator!
Just felt like doing something back for the community and now I think I've grown to become a admin tho. Learned so much, worked on it, but will keep learning and working to keep my rank and let people have fun on the servers and keep them clean off the rulebreakers!
If you got any more questions, add me on Steam or reply in this thread!
Also tell me when you see a spelling mistake or need something explained more in depth!
