Explain how you feel that your time as a Moderator will contribute to you becoming an Admin:
During my time as a moderator I've dealt with various situations in which I've had to enforce the practical application of the prophunt rules on the server. This experience has given me a greater understanding of the rules, and how to deal with players who break them. Being a moderator I feel that I've been effective in dealing with problems on the server, but I could be far more effective and timely if I was an administrator. One problem I've faced is having to contact other members of staff in order to have certain matters dealt with, such as dealing with ban evaders, and problems with hackers, and although in every instance the other members responded quickly, I feel that if I had the independence and powers of an admin I could deal with any problems like that in the future without needing to unnecessarily bother other staff members.
Explain a situation in which it would be appropriate to use the ban command:
A few situations where the ban command would be appropriate are; sustained and continued rulebreaking after multiple warnings, kicks, or previous bans. The evasion of a ban. Hacking. If I suspected a player was using an alternative account to avoid a ban I would run a check on them. If they were avoiding a ban by using another account I would ban them from the server.
If you had to write a letter to train a moderator in between 100-200 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?:
The job of a moderator is the monitor and react to things happening on the server. Your job will involve the enforcement of the rules of prophunt and aiding players with any questions they have or if they run into problems while playing. As a moderator you will have access to a series of commands that will allow you to punish rulebreakers and help players who are having trouble. Make sure you're aware of the rules and to answer any questions concerning the rules or commands needed to play the server. Make use of the warning system, and report suspected hackers to other members of staff. Don't hesitate to contact other members of staff if you're having a problem, or need some extra help with a problem on the server. Attend the meetings, and stay active on the server.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for Cheating, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
In the event of choosing whether or not to allow a known cheater back onto the server I'd consider a few things. First, what history do they have on the server, do they have many hours of playtime and in that playtime did they get any warnings or reports? If I find a series of warnings or reports it would seriously impact my decision, and I would not allow them back onto the server. If their record is clean and their only offence is hacking I would refer the appeal to another member of staff, and discuss what action to take. The majority of my decision making would rely on the players history of reports, or if they had a reputation for rule breaking on the server. If their warning history is clean, and their appeal is earnest, I would strongly consider allowing them back onto the server.
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 100 words):
I should be promoted to admin because during my time as moderator I've ran into situations where the moderator powers were not enough to deal with certain rulebreakers, in the future if I am promoted to admin I would be able to attend to these problems quicker. I would like to be more involved in reacting to situations as they happen on the server and feel that with the position of admin I could make informed decisions that would improve the players experience.
