JJ121314 Time Zone: GMT + 0 Link to Steam Profile: steamcommunity.com/id/JJ121314/ What server are you applying for? Deathrun SteamID: STEAM_0:0:58519251 Current Gametracker Profiles: Server 1 - www.gametracker.com/player/JJ121314/play.zarpgaming.com:27035/ Estimated Server Time: 125 Hours Languages I speak: Mainly English A little bit of French A little bit of Mandarin Questions How do you feel that your time as an administrator has contributed to becoming a super administrator: In my time as staff I have gained a lot of experience and have learnt a lot about handling a variety of situations and when certain punishments are necessary. I have helped train new staff members and have guided multiple applicants through the application process and have helped them use the forums and application. During my time as staff I have handled plenty situations and have had to help lots of other newer staff members out. I have helped keep players calm when situations unfold and have stopped situations growing out of control. My time as admin has helped me become a more well known staff member, it has taught me how to use every command to its full extent and how to help new staff members and players. My time as admin has also gained me trust in the community and has separated me from other admins in the fact I talk to lots of staff and gained their trust. Other staff members now feel they can rely on me and turn to me for help and I am trusted by many to handle situations quickly and calmly. My time as admin has improved all of these aspects and shown how I have excelled as a staff member, making me ready for the promotion. What makes you a good candidate for the super administrator team? ( in this part you can go as detailed as you want): I think I would be a good candidate for the super administrator role as I am very dedicated to the server. I will spend long amounts on the time on the server when there are no other staff members on and will stay there even when I am no longer needed. I have great activity and play as often as I can, normally chatting with people when I do. I am very helpful in the staff team and also towards other users. As stated above I frequently help people with staff applications and lots of other problems they encounter on the server. I also have a lot of trust in the staff team and other staff members feel like they can rely on me to handle a situation and be the only staff member online. This is proven by the fact that I have helped train moderators and the fact that many new staff members turn to me for help. I help handle situations when staff need it whilst also letting that staff gain experience and learn how to handle it themselves. I am very selfless and help others out when it gains me nothing. When handling situations I try to be as fair as possible and distribute punishments fairly. I rarely lose my temper when on the server showing that I am not biased and that I always take in both sides of the situation. I want this server to continue to grow and thrive and as Super Admin I could help do this. Explain a situation as an administrator you encountered that was an obstacle that required the help of a lead team member but you had to work around it when no lead team member was available: I have encountered many situations where there are arguments happening among staff members and situations where there have been large scale arguments between staff and player. There was a certain situation where a player was being very abusive towards a certain staff member and they were both having a very heated argument. To handle the situation I started by calming everyone down and stopping the situation from growing any further. Then I got information from both sides of the argument and other staff members what had happened. The player was accusing the staff of inappropriate punishment and I helped him by telling him what he could do about it (such as making a post on the forums about it). I then gathered evidence from the staff member what had happened and concluded that the staff member was in the right position to punish the player and that the staff member had done nothing wrong. At this point the user lost his temper and continued his assault but he ended up being temporarily banned as a result of his actions. The staff member had contacted me in this situation as he was in need of assistance and was worried that what he had done was wrong. However, by evaluating the situation and gathering evidence in an unbiased way I reached a fair conclusion and the user was handled with the right punishment without the need of a lead team member. I prevented a false abuse accusation and a disrespectful player without the need of a LT, showing my dedication and reliability as I was trusted by that staff member to help them out. Explain how you would review and handle an abuse report against another staff member: I would start by checking that the post was using the correct template and then let other staff know that I am handling the situation. After that, I would gather all the evidence possible using the forum post and then turn to contacting the user and staff member involved. I would start by taking in the information from the staff member’s point of view and then contact the user to see if they could provide any additional information about the situation or any events that have happened since then. From that I would the try and reach a fair and unbiased conclusion and if necessary contact and other staff that was online at the time. Once I have reached my conclusion I would then decide whether the staff member needs to be punished and do so accordingly. Once done I would reply to the topic with the verdict and then ask for the topic to be locked. If necessary I would finish it off by explaining to either party why the verdict was reached and what evidence helped me reach my conclusion. Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation: A staff member bans a user for an excessive amount of time, how do you approach the staff member to ensure that everyone is treated fairly? I would start by contacting the staff member to find out the reason for the ban and what the situation was when it occurred. I would ask the staff member whether any prior punishments and/or verbal warnings were made and use the F6 menu to check the punishments. If needed I would also check with other staff members online at the time to verify what the staff member said they had done. I would then change the ban time accordingly (using their SteamID), taking in both what the staff member said and the reason for the ban. Once the ban time has been changed I would then inform the banned user about the length of ban change. I would then make sure to tell other Lead Team members about the incident and also talk to the staff member about handing out less harsh punishments and what ban times are appropriate. Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation: A staff member is dealing with a user but is struggling to do so in an appropriate manner. How would you resolve the situation? I would assist the staff member in handling them by explaining to them in admin chat how to handle the situation, so the situation is resolved as quickly as possible. I would make sure that there was evidence proving the rule break, making sure the user is not inappropriately punished. Afterwards I would tell the staff member how to deal with these situations, so they can do it without any assistance. I would also let the staff member know that if needed they can contact me to help them whenever necessary, so the staff member feels more relaxed. If there was any major problems in how the staff member handled the situation I would continue to monitor them and also retrain them, then contact the lead team if any problems continued. Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation: A staff member accuses another staff member of breaking rules, how would you help resolve the situation? I would start off by contacting the staff member who was accusing the other staff member about what happened and try and gather as much information as possible about what happened and any proof that they had. I would then contact the supposed rule breaker to gain the other point of view and to try to come to a balanced opinion on the situation. If necessary I would also contact any other staff members who were online at the time to find out what they saw. Once I had decided if the rule had been broken or not I would then contact the staff members with my decision and explain why I came to that conclusion. If the rule had been broken I would explain to the staff member the rule and get them to read the rules again on the forums. If the incident has happened before I would then need to have a serious conversation with the rule breaker about what has been happening. To do this I would contact them through TeamSpeak or Steam. I would explain the possible consequences of their actions (such as official warning or demotion or verbal warning) and then contact the lead team about what had happened to continue with the possible punishments and/or so they can keep a close eye on that staff member. Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation: A staff member acts in a disrespectful manner towards another staff member and or sparks an argument within the staff team. How do you resolve the situation? I would start by trying to calm down everyone involved in the situation and try to get an idea of what was going on. I would then try and find out what caused the argument and try and get the staff to try and agree on the situation in a way which satisfies both parties. I would then ask them both to apologize and warn them verbally against any future behavior. If this problem persists then I would try to get to the root of the problem and try to find out why the staff member in question was having these issues. I would then let them know that in the future they should use the forums or the Lead Team before trying to take action against the accused staff member. Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation: You spot a staff member breaking rules to the point of harming other users, how do you approach the staff member? I would first try and contact them privately, be it via TeamSpeak or steam, so I could handle the situation easier. I would then ask the staff member why they were breaking rules and whether or not they were purposely doing so. I would then gather evidence from the situation and then contact the Lead Team with the evidence I had gathered. I would also take into account what the staff member had said and what they thought they were/weren't doing to try and conclude whether the staff member was trying to be malicious or not.
