How do you feel that your time as an administrator has contributed to becoming a super administrator :
I have been made an administrator 2 months ago, after 2 weeks of being a moderator. I have, since that time, do my best to be daily active both on TTT and Teamspeak. This time helped me a lot to mature to the point of felling confident enough to become not only a Super Administrator for the sake of the rank, but to add something positive to the lead team and our server. This time was also precious, as it granted me the opportunity to encounter many different situations to handle. It also gave me the chance to meet many people, from both the staff and users, each of them with having different personality and expectations.
What makes you a good candidate for the super administrator team? :
From what I have said in the previous question, I now have the necessary maturity and hindsight to become a serious and dedicated Super Administrator. I'm convinced that everyone who know will acknowledge my maturity, my honesty, my patience and my friendliness. But I'm also firm, but always just and polite with everyone, whatever the situation is.
I always take extra care to handle rule breaks and difficulties people encounter seriously and cool-headed, to help the best I can. I also always take the needed time to help users when I'm asked for both in game and even in steam, to make sure that they enjoy their time with us keep playing on our server. I love chatting with other staff members and helping them, as well as asking for their opinion on a few difficult problems we can encounter with users.
I am proud of working for TTT and Zarp in general. For all those reasons, I believe I am fit to bear the responsibility of being a SA, and that I would do a great job. I have the experience and the will to do it.
Explain a situation as an administrator you encountered that was an obstacle that required the help of a lead team member but you had to work around it when no lead team member was available :
That question may be the hardest for me, as I am way too honest to come up with a story to impress everyone : indeed, each time I encountered a great difficulty I could not handle by myself, the lead team was always available to help and ensure the problem is solved. Of course, that doesn't mean I cannot handle such situations by myself. Like I have said previously, I have encountered a lot of situations. May it be cheating, ban evading, ghosting, harassing, in-game bug that required a small intervention from the owners, I always do my best to ensure everyone feel at home like I do in TTT.
I have also sometimes been confronted with some staff members having difficulties with commands, being harsh to users or do mistakes in their handling. Each time, I did my best to help them and show them the right things to do.
Explain how you would review and handle an abuse report against another staff member :
First of all, I would take the necessary time to have enough hindsight about the report. Then, I would contact the user to know more about it and have all the details before exchanging with my colleague. That way, I am sure to be fair to both of them, and not wasting anyone's time.
That done, I would then of course contact the other staff member and discuss with him with the proper tone. As I would have, by that time, listen to both sides of the story, I would come with the proper conclusion according to the proofs and our rules and ethos.
I would be extremely serious with this, as both sides must not feel deceived. Our staff do a great but stressful job at times. On the other side, our users deserve a fair treatment and need to see the right example from each staff members.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation :
A staff member bans a user for an excessive amount of time, how do you approach the staff member to ensure that everyone is treated fairly?
Once again, I would read the whole appeal and check the said ban in game. Then, to get a full grasp of the reason behind the ban, I would naturally contact the staff member responsible for it. I would insist to be able to chat with him vocally and have the necessary time to handle this on Teamspeak. After hearing his reasoning regarding his decision, I would give him/her a fair opinion on the matter, always in line with our rules and ethos.
In this case, as the user WAS banned for an excessive amount of time, I would explain to the staff member what he should have done, and why. Plus, I would remind him than our ethos are there to consult, to prevent from such excessive bans to happen. Also, I would remind him that we do not only ban rule breakers to prevent harm for the server (which is extremely important) but to also start a change in them and make them learn from their mistakes and follow the rules.
Depending of the case, I would either shorten or completely revoke the ban. However, if the user still deserved to be banned, I would once again act fair and remind him that he broke a rule and that we expect him to be more careful and not find himself in such a situation again. Of course, in a similar case where the ban would be right, I would of course side with the staff member and reassure him that he was right to do so.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation :
A staff member is dealing with a user but is struggling to do so in an appropriate manner. How would you resolve the situation?
First, I would start talking to the staff member via the admin chat or in TS if we happen to be both connected. I would do my best and find the right words to help him depending of the nature of the problem. If he needs me to join a chatbox, or I feel the need to do it, I would gladly do so and make sure both him and the user act cool and talk cool-headed.
But the most important thing here is, in my opinion, to make sure (after the case is solved of course) that the staff member will now be able to handle such situation without any more difficulties. Plus, I would take extra care to be sure that, in the future, he would do it in the most appropriate and most respectful manner towards users.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member accuses another staff member of breaking rules, how would you help resolve the situation?
If something so serious happens, I would drop whatever I'm doing, especially if it happens in game and users are witnessing this. I would contact them both to tell them I will have to have a discussion with them. I would then get them on a private spacer, one at a time, to fully hear what the staff member accuses his colleague, and what the latter has to say about it. After having managed the lower the tension, I would then have them both in the said private spacer to start a more peaceful conversation between the two.
Hopefully, it was a misunderstanding or nothing severe. If it is however, I would intervene and tell a fair and objective opinion about the argument. In the hypothesis of the staff member indeed breaking rules, I would have a second chat with him to make him respect the rules to make sure to stop further accusations.
Finally, I would thank for the other staff member for bringing this to our attention. However, depending of how it was done (disrespect, accusation without proofs, etc.), I would tell him to act more careful and cool-headed in the future, and to contact a lead team member including myself before jumping to hasty conclusions.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation :
A staff member acts in a disrespectful manner towards another staff member and or sparks an argument within the staff team. How do you resolve the situation?
In such a situation, I would first ask the disrespectful staff member to stop at once and calm down. I would then move both of us in a private channel, after telling the victim I will do my best to end the argument.
After having managed to calm him down, I would then listen to his reasons for acing as such towards another staff member. If the disrespect is severe and/or unfounded, I would be strict and remind him that this kind of behavior is not be expected from a staff member, whatever the reason behind it. I would finally, with the victim's agreement, move the latter in and do my best to ensure a more peaceful exchange between the two colleagues, to make them make peace and ensure that this is settled once and for all, with the necessary excuse it requires.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation :
You spot a staff member breaking rules to the point of harming other users, how do you approach the staff member?
First of all, I would do everything necessary to stop him to cause further harm to everyone. I would then apologize to all users for the trouble caused, and assure them that we will deal with this situation.
After having gathered the needed evidence to treat this fairly, I would ask him to on TS as soon as possible so we can discuss about what happened. I would then expose him the what has he done and its consequences for users and the server as its whole. I would take an extra care in telling him that we cannot possibly enforce rules to users if we aren't even able to follow them ourselves, and that we need the whole staff to show the appropriate behavior while playing.
However, if I cannot reason the staff member, or if he did it on purpose to harm users and the server's reputation, I would ask a HA to join to help us on such an urgent and grave matter. Either way, it would then become my responsibility to keep an eye on him and make sure he gets on the right tracks again.
- I am a mature, honest and patient individual
- I am confident enough to say I am trusted in TTT
- Like a lot of you guys, I love Zarp and TTT, and I am ready to give my best to keep us number 1
- We have a lot of really good lead team members already
- Too much "I would" in this application
- I started a new job three weeks ago. Since then, my time has become more scarce than before. It is getting better and better, as I'm getting accustomed to my new pace of life
Whether I get accepted or not, I wanted to say that I am proud to be part of the staff team. I feel at home with you people. And for that, as a SA or not, I will keep on doing my best to always add something positive to our server and our community.
To all the people who asked me and supported me to apply, to the whole staff, and everyone :
Thanks for reading and for your patience !
Thank you for any constructive criticism !
