Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin:
Well, since I have already been an admin, I have decided to write about how my overall time as staff will contribute to being an admin. When I was a member of the staff team. I always spent my time on the server staffing and actually very little playing. I had quite high F1 counts and I was generally a respected staff member and my work was appreciated. Back then I met people like Anna, Onion, Richard and many other staff members who have gone a long way since I left. I think most of those remaining who still know me can confirm, that I was a hard working admin. Like everyone else I did my mistakes, but nothing major which would have instantly stopped my career. When I first became a moderator, there were caring admins who ensured I didn't fuck up too hard in my first days. People like Biwx helped me along the way and after a month I became an admin. I was an admin for about 1-2 months, but then I had to leave due to school. And well, now I'm back in the game and I strive to regain my position to contribute to the server.
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user):
Watch from 9:00!
As a moderator I encountered quite a lot of such situations. I will only name two examples though. First off all, I encountered multiple situations in which someone left his house without selling his doors. When another player informed me that he wanted to build there and no admins where online I checked on the player, but he was AFK. So I had to basically wait. And after 20 minutes he came back and when I asked him to sell his doors he did so without any resistance. The second and probably way more difficult situation was, when I encountered three prop abusers on spawn. I caught two but I was immediately proppushed away from my sit. In the end I had to freeze all of them, but they weren't compliant. I warned them sent them back to their last location, but they continued and after I repeated the whole process of explaining the rules to them and warning them, the server finally auto kicked them.
If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?:
I decided to us the guide of my old admin application, but I fixed my typos and updated little bits.
Congratulations on being accepted as moderator!
I will give you a quick guide/introduction on your new commands and tasks.
THE MENUS
F1- If you click F1 a menu will pop up in which you can see all handled and unhandled F1s.
You can right click on one of the F1s and either handle it or mark it as abuse. If you handle it you have the choice to either go to the player or bring him. It's important that you usually handle the F1s in the order they are presented to you. This is in order to ensure no user has to wait too long for a staff member to help them. You can also see the logs of approximately the last 10 minutes.
F6- Here you can see all the punishments of any players. Before you warn somebody always check this and decide upon this what kind of punishment is needed. You might give out a verbal warn if he has a clean record, regarding what he did in his break of the rules. If you find the punishment you can give out unfitting, feel free to call an admin so he can take over the sit.
THE COMMANDS
/goto SteamID/PlayerName - Go to a player of your choice.
/bring SteamID/PlayerName - Bring a player of your choice.
/back SteamID/PlayerName - Return a player to his last location. (before teleport/bring)
/backspawn SteamID/PlayerName - Return a player to spawn.
/tp SteamID/PlayerName - TP a player to the location you are looking at. (you use this command to get around the map quickly and to get on roofs) (DONT ABUSE THIS)
/warn SteamID/PlayerName Reason - Warns a player for a reason. (do always use SteamID as PlayerName could target the false player)
/kick SteamID/PlayerName - Kicks a player from the server. (do always use SteamID as PlayerName could target the false player)
/freeze SteamID/PlayerName Time(nothing is indefinitely) - Freezes a player in his position.
/unfreeze SteamID/PlayerName - Unfreezes a player.
You can also manage most of the commands via the Tab-Menu(when you click on a player). In edition you can unban players from jobs (Miner,Godfather) in the Tab-Menu.
That's it, if you were accepted on the forums please try to contact a superadmin or above to get you trained. I wish you good luck and keep the server clean.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for propspam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
First of all, I would ask for permission to handle this appeal, because usually an appeal should be handled by another person, not the punishing staff. After I received permission to do so from a high enough staff member, my response would be.
Dear Player X,
After reading your appeal and evaluating all the facts surrounding the ban, I have decided to accept your appeal and unban you. I ask you to not break this or any rules again, as this would most likely result in a permanent ban again. I accept your apology and I wish you good fun on the server and I ask you to keep your record clean from this day on and to become a valuable member of the community.
Your appeal has been accepted.
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 150 words):
Well as you might know by now, I have had some experience being an admin already. These days I quite often see rule breakers on the Zarp server and I believe a qualified staff member won't hurt the community. I have finally returned and I wish to dedicate my time on the server to the users. Helping the if needed watching over them and dealing with situations calm and professional. I always listen to both sides. And I will try to be a neutral person during my time an admin on duty. I will work towards ensuring that Zarp becomes a better place and I will use my experience to help other staff members to grow in this community. I will handle appeals on the forums and also be active in game. I will strive to become a very valuable asset to the staff team.
I thank you all for reading my application and I thank Anna for allowing me to reapply,
