Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin:
While my time as moderator has been short, I feel the experience has not only prepared me for additional responsibility, but has proven I am capable of properly officiating the servers. I have experienced first-hand the multitude of issues that arise on a daily basis in the SSRP servers and have shown I have the ability to resolve them to the best of my abilities and to the satisfaction of the users.
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user):
An issue I have had to work through recently that is of note would have to be a user that threatened to DDoS the server. The player mentioned had been playing the last few days and found themselves in the middle of trouble often. I accepted every f1 they made and attempted to explain and work with them through their issues, but it never seemed to stick. The player became increasingly agitated as the days progressed and the server suffered for it.
Yesterday, the user apparently had had enough and began harassing users, ridiculing the server and staff, and breaking a variety of others rules. I again attempted to work with them while handing out the proper punishments for the actions. Eventually the user accumulated enough warns to be granted a temp ban. After their ban expired they joined the server again, but this time they continuously threatened to take the server down and DDoS. While punishing the user, I made sure to inform a Lead Team member of the users threats and handled the situation to the best of my ability.
If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?:
Hello and welcome to the Zarp SSRP Staff Team!
As a moderator, you are now entrusted to enforce the rules of the server and help the users during their stay. With the rank and responsibility of moderator comes a new set of powers that will help you during your time administrating.
Kick: This options removes the user from the server and should be used sparingly.
Mute Chat: This power works in increments or indefinitely and removes the user's ability to text chat.
Unban from job: Used to unban a user from a selected role.
Freeze: This power works in increments or indefinitely and locks the user in place.
Slay: This grants you the ability to execute a player in a variety of ways, but should be used sparingly as a talk or warning is more effective.
Mute globally: This power works in increments or indefinitely and removes the user's ability to voice chat.
Teleport: Displaces the user to the area you are targeting.
Goto: Takes you to the selected user.
Bring: Brings the user to the selected player.
Back: Sends the user back to spawn or their previous location.
While the powers are incredibly helpful, your best tools are that of communication. Punishing a user only does so much, but speaking to them and explaining what they have done wrong allows for understanding and growth. With that said, not every action should be dismissed so lightly and in that case, you should use the /warn [SteamID] (Reason) feature to add an official warn to an user's account. You can also use the F1 and F6 menu to track requests, warnings, logs, and a variety of other information critical to being a staff member.
If you ever have any questions, do not hesitate to consult the rules or your fellow staff!
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for propspam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
Hello Player X,
After reviewing your ban appeal and consulting fellow staff members we have agreed it would be best to give you a second chance. Your ban has been shortened to two days and after that you will be free to re-join the server. We ask that you take this time to reflect on your actions and review the server’s rules before you come back to play. Thank you for making an appeal.
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 150 words):
I believe I should be promoted as I have shown in my short time as mod that I am more than capable of properly administrating the servers. I am incredibly active and thanks to this I have had a chance to converse with and request the assistance of fellow staff members. These interactions with the staff has granted me a plethora of knowledge and information from which to draw from during my sits and for that I am incredibly grateful. I feel the powers granted by the Admin rank will only benefit Zarp and myself as it will grant me better ways in which to handle situations that arise on the server. I believe I am more than capable of properly handling the increased responsibility and power that comes with the title of Admin and would like a chance to prove it. Thank you for your consideration.
