I wasn’t going to apply at first, but someone convinced me I had nothing to lose, so I did.
Steam Name: P0rtalSh0oter Time Zone: GMT+1 Link to Steam Profile: steamcommunity.com/id/P0rtalSh0oter/ What server are you applying for? TTT Server 1+2 SteamID: STEAM_0:1:78437471 Current Gametracker Profiles: www.gametracker.com/player/P0rtalSh0oter...arpgaming.com:27017/ www.gametracker.com/player/P0rtalSh0oter...arpgaming.com:27018/ Estimated Server Time: 610 hours according to Gametracker Languages I speak: Dutch, English and somewhat French and German How do you feel that your time as an administrator has contributed to becoming a super administrator: I’ve refreshed the knowledge I had before I resigned, and have now become more comfortable with the commands yet again. I’ve also changed my punishment severity to align with the current ethos. I didn’t really have to learn a whole lot since I had the knowledge already. So with this knowledge, I think I’d do a good job as an SA. I’ve been staff on TTT for about 1 ½ years total and I think I’m ready for a promotion. What makes you a good candidate for the super administrator team? ( in this part you can go as detailed as you want): I have had previous experience as a head administrator, which means I know all of the commands, which are associated with being an SA. I’ve proven to be capable of using the admin commands, and would benefit from having the extra commands. I’m a friendly person and don’t insult and rulebreak, I really enjoy playing on the server and it has become the primary thing I do to relax. I spend time on the forums, to reply to applications and for fun, I chat with fellow staff and others, and overall: I like being in this community and I think I can handle the extra responsibility of being an SA, seeing I’ve become more relaxed, while staying focused on the things that matter. Explain a situation as an administrator you encountered that was an obstacle that required the help of a lead team member but you had to work around it when no lead team member was available: I’ve seen an admin ban someone for a week for RDMx2 + LTAP. Since that person is the same rank as me, I can’t really punish them for it. All I could do was talk to them about it, but it wouldn’t have any meaning to it. Even if they were doing something really bad, I couldn’t punish them, all I could do was wait for a lead team member to come online, so that I could message them. Explain how you would review and handle an abuse report against another staff member: I would check, to see if the proof given proves they have broken server rules. If not, I would respond to the report, and telling the user that has reported the staff member in the response that the proof is not sufficient. If the proof is sufficient, I would tell the staff member what they did wrong, and how they can improve. I would also present the proof in the lead team meeting, and discuss whether any further action needs to be taken. Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation: A staff member bans a user for an excessive amount of time, how do you approach the staff member to ensure that everyone is treated fairly? I would talk to the staff member in question privately, tell them their ban time is too much for the current situation, and explain to them what would be an appropriate amount of time to ban that user for. Next, I would ask them to edit the ban, so that the banned player gets the same punishment as other users punished by that staff member in the future. If the punishment was really excessive, I would bring up in the lead team that they were not following the ethos, and then we would discuss if further action than a verbal warning needs to be taken. Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation: A staff member is dealing with a user but is struggling to do so in an appropriate manner. How would you resolve the situation? I would ask the user they were dealing with to stop trying to break the rule they were breaking, and then privately chat the staff member what the correct way to deal with the user was. If the situation at hand was very straightforward, I would bring up in the lead team meeting that they were not able to cope with a basic situation, and we would discuss if further action should be taken. Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation: A staff member accuses another staff member of breaking rules, how would you help resolve the situation? I would ask the staff member that is accusing to provide proof, backing up his claims. If sufficient proof is provided, I would provide this proof to the lead team and discuss it. If no (sufficient) proof was provided, I would ask the player to stop accusing people of breaking rules without proof. Even if the accused staff member was breaking rules, he can’t be punished for something without proof. Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation: A staff member acts in a disrespectful manner towards another staff member and or sparks an argument within the staff team. How do you resolve the situation? I would chat privately with the user, or talk to them over TS if necessary. Then I would tell him to stop being disrespectful towards the other staff member, as your fellow staff members are the people, you should especially respect. If it was serious, I’d bring it up in the lead team. Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation: You spot a staff member breaking rules to the point of harming other users, how do you approach the staff member? I would tell the staff member what they were doing wrong and that they should stop doing it. If they do not stop breaking rules, and there is no other option, I’d temporarily demote, kick or ban them. Afterwards, I’d tell them that breaking rules will lead to consequences. Then, no matter if he stops or not, I’d bring it up in the lead team that they were rulebreaking a lot, and we would discuss further action. This was my application, feedback is appreciated |
