Steam Name: |Z| Morgan Link to Steam Profile: My Profile SteamID: STEAM_0:1:82175 Current Gametracker Profiles: Server 1 - www.gametracker.com/player/%7CZ%7C%20Mor...arpgaming.com:27030/ Estimated Server Time: 4217 Minutes Languages I speak: English, German, Spanish Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin: I've dealt with a lot of situations as a Moderator. A combination of my past experience of nearly Head Admin on all servers and the Surf Server have shown me it's important to be apart of a team. I know the role of both a Moderator and Administrator, and have had no issues as a Moderator. I'll be a great Administrator! Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user): There was a user that continued to join and was constantly disrespectful. I continued to mute/gag him only to see him leave and avoid it. I got an administrator on to deal with the player. As an administrator he could've been banned a lot sooner. If you had to write a letter to train a moderator in between 100-200 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?: Hello, x!
Congratulations on Moderator, there's a lot to learn and we'll discuss these in-depth below!
Meetings
The Surf Server starts at 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time every Friday! These meetings are not mandatory, however, if you wish to apply for administrator you'll need to have attended your first meeting.
Commands
The commands you have access to are quite limited as a moderator, however they're easy to grasp and will let you deal with most issues.
First, to open the menu type xgui in console or !menu in game. We use ULX here for our administrative commands.
Amute: Mutes there player from using admin chat.
Gag: Disables players using their microphones.
Mute: Disables players using in game chat.
thetime: States the time globally in chat.
Slay: Pretty useless. If someone is spamming their gun, that's about the only scenario I can think of.
Kick: Will kick the player from the server.
Your Role
The moderation team keeps the Surf Server clean just like the Administrators, however, they
have fewer commands, but they still can deal with every situation on the servers.
That's pretty much it, if you have any questions feel free to add me on steam. Take care. Explain how you would handle the following situation: Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for Cheating, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be? Firstly we'll be assuming that he's banned by another staff member. I'd speak to the staff member about the user and get his opinion on his actions with the given situation. He explains the permanent ban was a bit much, and since he's apologized deeply and thoroughly, he'd like to see an unban of the user. I'd then go to the thread and type the following: Hello user, Myself and 'Admin Here' have discussed your appeal thoroughly and have decided the best course of action to take is you to be unbanned. We can tell you mean what you say in your apology, and myself and the staff member feel a permanent ban was a bit harsh. Please take a while to review the rules before you join the server, you can find them here. Thanks for your cooperation and for filling out the template, do not do this again. Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 100 words): I should be promoted for a few reasons. I'll go through them below. Trusted Currently I hold two positions of staff across the Community. This includes SSRP and Surf. On both servers I've never received complaint about my staffing ability or punishments. As an administrator you can expect the same sort of behavior, and a very helpful administrator. Friendly I'm a very friendly person. I talk to almost everyone in the community, and do my best to repair relationships if they're damaged. I get along with the users well and come across as a friendly staff member when dealing with situations. Helpful I'm on the server constantly. I'm always enforcing rules, anywhere from mic spam to serious misconduct. Active Attitude Since Unbanned over a month ago, users and staff have obviously seen a great improvement in my attitude compared to mine before my ban. I've much more friendly and helpful, and I believe a positive and helpful attitude is just what a staff member needs for the role. Experienced Previously in ZARP I've held the positions of Head Administrator on nearly every server excluding Deathrun. I even held Forum Administrator and Teamspeak Administrator. I have a comprehensive and thorough understanding of all ZARP policy and will have a kick in my step when dealing with these on a day to day basis. |

Thanks for applying for staff at ZARP SURF! During our weekly staff meeting your application, question answers, game trackers and in-game warnings are checked and then the staff team votes on your application. This time, the staff team have decided that you still need to work on your application and then apply again next week. To try and help you they have summarised some positives & negatives discussed during the meeting: Only just came to first meeting. You can apply again at any time, and thanks for supporting ZARP! |
