It has given me an insight in the way to handle myself as a staff member and because of this, I think it has prepared me for becoming an admin. Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG defiant user) Meh. Everyone seems to be behaving themselves when I am on so I haven't really encountered anything like this yet. However, say a user was mic spamming and I had given them a chance to stop I would gag them, and if they continued this behaviour by chat spamming, I would mute them. After a said amount of time and then they were unmuted, and they kept spamming, It would result in a kick. If you had to write a letter to train a moderator in between 100-200 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp Hello! Congratulations on getting accepted as moderator and welcome to the staff team! There are a number of things you need to know to get started that are listed below: Here are some commands to get you started: @ <message> - This sends a message to all admins online on the server !slay <player> <reason> - This kills the player !warn <player> <reason> - This warns a player !gag <player> <reason> - This gags a player (for voice) !ungag <player> - This ungags a player (for voice) !mute <player> <reason> - This mutes a player (for chat) !unmute <player> - This unmutes a player (for chat) !kick <player> <reason> - This kicks a player from the server If you struggle to remember things, you can also use the ULX menu, which has all these commands displayed in a pretty order. You can access this menu by typing the following command in chat !menu Another menu which is less often used is the F6 menu, where you will be able to see the warnings of a player whether they are online or offline (provided you have their Steam ID). Explain how you would handle the following situation Warning: Spoiler! [ Click to expand ][ Click to hide ] Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for Cheating, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be You seem to be extremely sorry for what you have done, and you have taken the time to make an appeal on the forums. I have taken into account that this is your first ban, and so because of this, I have decided to reduce your ban to 1 day. Use this time to go over the rules (which can be found here). Please do not cheat again, I'll be keeping an eye on you! ![]() Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 100 words) I think I should be promoted to admin because my time as moderator has given me time to get used to the commands on surf, and I think it has prepared me to take on the role of admin. Thanks for applying for staff at ZARP SURF! During our weekly staff meeting your application, question answers, game trackers and in-game attitude are checked and then the staff team votes on your application. Congratulations! The staff team has voted to accept your application, which means you’re now a part of the ZARP SURF staff team. Before you get started, a staff member will help train you on the server and get you setup with your new rank. There’s a weekly staff meeting for the server every Friday at 8PM GMT, which is held on the ZARP Teamspeak server (IP: ts.zarpgaming.com). You now get a vote on the new staff members and we’ll keep you up to date with new events and server updates at the meeting. Congratulations and thanks for supporting ZARP! . |
