Joshua's Community Manager Application Steam Name: Joshua I am From: UK Age: 19 Positions I currently hold: Murder Server Owner SSRP HeadAdmin Teamspeak 3 HeadAdmin Discord HeadAdmin Forum Section Staff Community Council Event Manager Time spent with Zarpgaming I first joined Zarp in 2014. The first server I played was SSRP Server 1 with my friend back in the day; the SSRP Server was better then and still is the best SSRP server there is currently to date; I've seen zarp go through its up and downs in the monsters amounts of type I've been with zarp, I've been on and off up to 2018, with myself getting a few community bans for various amounts of reasoning this includes scamming and stealing code, I then since came back in late 2019 and have worked hard to firstly regain trust to get SSRP Moderator to then finally getting trusted to become the highest SSRP Rank furthermore then being the server owner of my baby the murder server Why should I be chosen for CM 2021/22? My name is Joshua, I'm currently 19 years, and I'm from England; I'm currently employed as an IT AWS Certified Service desk engineer mainly working directly with Linux and small parts of window machines; within my role, I deal with very demanding clients where the customer's of the clients we work with are ringing and sending emails to our service desk or our emails asking for help; these type of request can be tasked very basic to password resets down to dealing with e-sign issues resulting in car finance agreement's being rejected or blocked which result being people can't drive away from the car dealerships. I've just recently passed one of my current most complicated challenges, which I faced was completing and becoming an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner who is not the fastest and or easiest exams to be able to pass in a short space of time I was provided the exam fee's from my work. Still, I was channelled into getting this exam passed within 4-5months of being allowed to study inside work time as it is now a requirement to work with our clients. Although my employer is now happy with me for completing the exam and gaining more clients as we can now advertise as fully certified, including the engineers to gain more clients for the company, which in turn allows myself and my team to gain more exposure to systems as you can never stop learning; life is a learning curve you have up's and downs. I have decided that I will continue my exams within the AWS IT field and hopefully become an AWS Certified Solutions Architect. This being the most challenging exam possible inside the field I work for, this show's that I don't and will not just do the bare minimum to get a task completed and summited. Personality and caring I see myself being a very friendly and approachable person; I'm always happy to talk to anyone about anything they feel comfortable about taking; if I hear that someone is feeling upset or annoyed regarding anything, I personally then feel affected and try my best to see how I can support and help out the people affected. An example of this is where I found out that one of my work colleagues was struggling with dealing with a very demanding client, this client being one of our biggest and highest paying Colocation clients, Play-Station network, due to signed contract agreements I'm unable to say what the direct issue was, however, I saw this happening while I was off shift but could see the call logs and emails going back and thought. So my priority was to make sure my college who was starting to feel highly pressured and who started to face abuse over the phone from the client, was ok; I offered to take over the call and advise the client that we are working on the issue at hand, and I will contact the customer every 15mins with an update. I then jump onto a call with my college, and we worked on the issue together, which resulted in the issue being on the client's side after we spent a good 2-3hours doing nothing but the issue at hand. My idea's and goals I wish to complete as a community manager Forum improvements. The first idea that comes to mind is forum improvements; now I know I'm cheating here by suggesting something that has already been saying; however, I believe that we need to get the forums updated with a newer design, but most importantly, we need to get a dark theme up and running that way everyone use's the same theme so when users do BBCode it looks the same either in white and or dark mode. I'm also thinking along the lines of forum improvements, have the website updated for more events which happen, for example, for Christmas, we update the site to go Christmas themed, but Halloween, we go Halloween themed, we do this on some servers so why not the forums also? - at the end of the day, the forums are what connect's us all together? An improved discord nitro benefits system Currently, when you nitro boost the ZARP gaming discord server, you gain either an SSRP Case or Pointshop Card Pack, but this is a very manual process, and most players have to wait till a CM is online to give a PS Card Pack and a Community Owner for an SSRP Case. I have two ideas for this improvement; Idea 1 we allow Server Owners to spawn in Pointshop Card packs and give to the nitro boosters, of course, would be monitored deeply; we could build and configure a server portal for servers owners to login in using SteamID which would be secure via Steam accounts and users could request card packs using the bot which would then be sent to the server owners portal where it can then be logged for when the user last requested a card pack and if it's past 30days, send a message to the server owner to spawn the item in for the player. This would be monitored, and when the printshop commands run for either point spawning and or adding items, it will log in to a new discord text channel where all relevant staff members can see. This is a draft policy I have written to support this and is subject to either the Server Owner Panel getting created or a dedicated text channel being created. Nitro Boosting perks policy Warning: Spoiler! [ Click to expand ][ Click to hide ] Players of zarpgaming.com can boost the Discord server in doing so. Players, therefore, become eligible to confirm one free SSRP Case(excluding Lava Case) and or 1 Free Pointshop Card every month. Players can request this using the Nitro-boosters text channel and or via the zarp gaming discord bot, which will send an alert to the current server owners. Pointshop Server Owners When a player requests a Pointshop Card pack, we allow the server owners to process these requests for the servers they are the Server Owner rank. Server Owners must follow the below checklist before giving the player the request Pointshop card pack. Checklist:
If all the above checklists are ok, The player can be given the requested Pointshop Card Pack and must ensure to update either the Nitro Boosting Panel and or a note into a dedicated setup text channel. SSRP Case Requests When a player requests an SSRP Case, Only the Community Owners can process these requests; Community owners follow the same process as Pointshop server owners. FAQ Currently, when viewing the HELP>FAQ. We can see that there is only one server in the FAQ, which is for the SSRP Server; I believe that we should have a section for each server where we could look into the possibility of allowing the owners of the server to have this listed under their servers FAQ Section either via a tag on the subject title or a parameter inside the body of the message to allow the post to be interlinked. Minecraft Server I believe that the Minecraft server can be outstanding and bring in many new players into the ZARP community. Still, I think that it needs some further assistance with regards to how the server is currently set up and is unfortauly just sitting with not many new players connecting to the server; I've already started to work with MadMagic regarding this topic and offered to help; I've worked with Pie and MadMagic is helping to set up the new Prison Server along with player improvements so even the worst machines and still join ZARP Minecraft and have a good time. I believe that there was a huge missed opportunity when the Minecraft server was released; it was released as a factions server; which requires a lot of players for it to become self-understand with players joining, I believe that we need to make 1 or 2 new Minecraft servers which only require a few players to be online where more players will join. My Server idea's with regards to this is Survival, Skyblock. Community-Wide get-togethers I wish to bring back a Community stream where players can vote from a selected list where each CM can provide up to 2 game requests, and the Community can vote on which game they wish for the community team to play with everyone. We can stream each cm members game and stream it onto a streaming platform to rotate between each cm team member's screens. This will bring the Community closer together as they will see us differently as we're not focusing directly on one thing. Instead, we're all playing the same game together, where the Community can come and join in with us, either by playing the game with us directly or by watching the stream. Lead-Team member's attendance I currently feel that after speaking with members of each server's lead-team members that LT member's attendance is starting to relax; we must express that we need our LT members inside the meetings to vote on new applications or to discuss points that require each LT members view and comments, it is therefor I have written in draft the current policy. Lead-Team meeting attendance policy. Warning: Spoiler! [ Click to expand ][ Click to hide ] Lead-Team Members are highly trusted individuals who have a massive responsibility for the server they hold the ranks of LT on; we believe that you can attend at least 2 out of 4 meetings every month if you hold an LT rank. We understand that sometimes there may be emergencies where attendance inside a meeting is simply unnecessary. If you're unavailable for your server's LT meeting, you can send at least one hour's notice along with any points that may need to be brought up; this can be inside the OneNote or via lead-team text channels. Event Manager Since myself, Pie & Ricard were given event manager roles; the intended idea was for this to be a community-wide type of rank; however, I feel that we need more members than 3 out of the four head admins on SSRP only holding the position; I've personally tried to contact the lead team's to try and get some event booked in, but the issue stands with hosting the events, It is challenging to complete this task when we hold no powers on the server we wish to host a custom event. I wish to open the rank across all servers; where they can be at least one event manager for each server; this 1 for make's it very clear for a staff member or even a player on who to goto to host an event and for what server, I believe that this will help towards bringing the players closer to the Staff Team and utility closer to the Community. Show your support I would personally love the challenge to become a community manager from first joining the community in 2014 to being community banned to being a server owner for murder, I've stuck around my entire life and would love the new challenge. Please support me in going for Community Manager by using the below banner. (better banner coming soon) https://i.imgur.com/0AWGud5.jpg Most importantly, Best of luck to all applications. |
