What is Ghosting? and give an example: Ghosting is the act of passing on information to live players (while you are dead) that may affect the outcome or flow of the current game/round. A good example of ghosting for Deathrun would be: a runner dies to a trap and starts to spectate other players. He notices his friend is doing well and has almost finished the course, however his friend thinks a death player is waiting to activate a trap. The dead runner tells his friend via Steam or another form of communication medium that there is not a death player waiting there and he can proceed without fear.
How would you deal with a disrespectful player?: Disrespect comes in many shapes and forms. In my eyes, a verbal warning to a disrespectful player is always required prior to deploying any form of official sanction/punishment. Anybody is capable of making mistakes and learning from them, sometimes a player who gets a bit annoyed might insult somebody else. When told by a member of staff, "hey, don't be disrespectful, it's against the rules", sometimes they may apologise and it may not happen again.
This is not always the case, however. Sometimes players continue to be disrespectful despite prior warnings from staff. If a verbal warning fails to prevent a player from being disrespectul, other means of disciplinary action should be deployed. A gag/mute would be appropriate for a round or two just to suppress the player's poor behaviour temporarily to calm them down.
Why I should be chosen:
Over the recently passed weeks, I have found that I absolutely adore Deathrun as a gamemode. I had never joined a Deathrun server before and I decided to give other servers (specifically in the ZARP community) a shot just to see if I'd enjoy them. I can say that I do not regret joining Deathrun at all. Over the time I've accumulated so far, I have had the opportunity to meet some fresh faces and get to know some members of the team alongside regulars of the server.
I feel I am a unique candidate for the following reasons:
- I am a highly trusted and respected member of the community - this mainly comes from my roles on TTT, Teamspeak and the forums.
- I go above and beyond to make sure I am helpful to anybody who is in need of assistance - even when a perfect solution may not always be reached.
- I am interactive with both staff and regular players - I do my best to develop strong bonds between the staff team and the community.
Being a lead team member on TTT, I have gained experience in not only how to deal with a variety of situations on a daily basis but also meeting structures and how they work, how to act as a role model for other staff and regular players and how to uphold the community ethos to a high standard at all times.
I understand that my activity looks poor - I have been on absence for the last two weeks on a training course for work. I have been a part of the server for several days but I have not been able to play. During the course over this week 22
nd to the next meeting day, I will pick up my activity.
