Estimated Server Time
On my steam account, it says that I have 166 hours (at the time of posting this application). I got G-Mod to play on this server that my friends told me about, I have only ever played the single player/other servers for 4 hours ish. I play for about 1-2 hours daily. *NOTE* Sometimes I will have gone offline on steam/left g-mod open while I was on the menu, so extra hours could be counted.
Languages I speak
I can speak English and Farsi/Persian fluently and I can also understand a small amount of French and Arabic
Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario.
Random Death Match (RDM) is when a player gets killed without a valid role-play reason.
Example: A player could be simply walking around to get to a certain part of the map to meet someone or to get something. Along the way, someone who he doesn't know and is opposing no threat to kills him with no valid purpose or reason. If player A was a threat to player B then player B would have the right to kill him, although, because player A was only walking by himself and player B killed him, it is considered as RDM.
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario.
New Life Rule (NLR) is when a player has been killed in any way in a certain part of the map. Once they are killed in that area, they are not allowed to go back for 3 minutes. If they had been killed by a player, they are not allowed to go back and kill that same player in that district or anywhere else UNLESS that player is a threat to them.
Example: Your base is being raided. You fight for as long as you can but finally, you get killed. You want to go back instantly to defend your printers and get revenge on the people that were raiding you.
Explain "Metagaming" and give an example scenario.
When a player uses OOC to get the attention of other players for something that is RP related.
Example: If a player is being raided and he wants to get his friend(s) to come and help him, he will type in OOC chat 'GUYS I'M BEING RAIDED IN RICH DISTRICT, PLEASE COME HELP ME!'
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x.
In this situation, firstly, I would ask player Y if he is available to be taken to a sit. Then, I would check the console firstly. In this case, the console says that what players X is saying is true. Although, there is no evidence to show that player X did nothing to provoke player Y. I would ask for either of the two players for evidence. If it shows that player X provoked player Y by, for example, trying to rob him and player Y was defending himself, I would let player Y leave with no warning. If the evidence shows player Y DID RDM, I would warn player Y for RDM. However, if there is no evidence, I will let them both off as a console log is not enough evidence to prove what went on before the kill.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time.
In this situation, firstly, I would ask player Y if he is available to be taken to a sit. Then,I would ask for evidence of the players killing one another and the time between when the players encountered each other in the same area one again. The logs show me that they both killed each other with a short amount of time in between. It could be that player X is constantly going after player Y and player Y managed to get him the second time. If the evidence shows that player X is constantly going after player Y I would warn player X for fail RP and RDM because he is constantly chasing someone who means no harm. If player Y is clearly breaking NLR by going back to the same player/constantly killing player X, I would warn player Y for fail RP and breaking NLR. However, if there is no evidence, I would give both players a verbal warning and walk them over the basic rule of please do not go back to the place you just died no matter what and do not kill one another without a valid reason.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided
In this case, player X is Metagaming. He is trying to get the attention of players in an OOC chat which is against the server rules. For this, I would take him somewhere private to explain to him what to do in that situation, what metagaming is and finally warn him for metagaming. If he does not have the correct job, I would also ask him to switch to the banker job.
Why I should be chosen.
In all honesty, I might have quite a bit to say. Not many of you may know me, you might see me here and there but not remember me. You might remember me from good or bad things that could've happened. Like everyone, I have weak and strong points. I know I have a LOT of warns for breaking NLR. The only times I ever break NLR is because I was RDM'd in an RP house. Regardless, I know it's still not okay to break rules no matter what.
But I have been on zarp for quite a while now, I see a lot of people complain that staff don't know what they're doing, or they abuse their power. Personally, I agree with this as my friend got banned for 2 weeks because he had a prop on the floor and an admin considered it as prop block. I watch people, I listen to them. I learn from what other people do (good of course) and I act on what people want. I am a friendly person in general and I can get to know people and be friends relatively quickly. I also can adapt very quickly to certain situations and learn what to do next if I don't already know.
I believe that my experience of being on the server for the time that I have been and the times that I have gotten into trouble have helped me understand what is required to become a Mod and also what I will have to do. I feel as if this can give me an early boost and assist me.
However, there are times where I can be quite unhappy that day and even on those days, I will do my best at not trying to be rude to anyone in the game (as in being strict). I can sometimes become strict but this is not common for me although it is something I am working on controlling.
Lastly, I would like to thank all of you that read my application, I know it's a bit lengthy but it means a lot to me that you have read it. Hope you enjoyed
*EDIT*
I AM GOING FOR G-MOD DARP RP SERVER 1
