Trouble in Terrorist Town Information.
Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario:
"Random Death Match" (More commonly referred to as "RDM" is the act of killing another player without reason as an Innocent or Detective Player. "RDM" can be accidental, however most are deliberate, and all are punishable.
An example of "RDM" would involve an Innocent or Detective Player killing another player without sufficient evidence that they are a traitor. This can be anything from a player trolling and killing as many players as possible as an Innocent/Detective, to a player doing a revenge kill from a previous round. A player who acts on a "suspicious" call by killing the player is also technically RDM'ing.
Give three examples of an acceptable KOS and its scenario:
1. Firstly, if a player is seen killing an Innocent player, then that player can be KOS'ed and killed.
2. Next up, Ignoring a Detective's commands repeatedly will then give that detective the right to call for a KOS on that player.
3. Lastly, If a player is seen going into the Traitor Room, then they can be KOS'ed.
As an additional - seeing somebody using Traitor Items (including weapons and C4) without announcing it is also able to be KOS'ed.
Give two examples of unacceptable KOS and their scenarios:
1. A non-detective player calling a KOS on a suspicious player is not an acceptable KOS.
2. You are also not allowed to KOS based on Player models. More than one player may have the same Model, so it's an unreliable method of KOS.
Why I should be chosen (longer answer expected here - at least 75 words):
I believe I should be chosen for this position because of my very level headed approach when it comes to passing judgement on an incident. I have experience in moderating, both in and out of GMod, ranging from being Trial Moderator to a Co-Founder of a community which I am no longer a part of. I have also seen a few times when i'm online when there are no staff online and people decide to not play the game properly. Having me as a moderator would definitely help that, as I play during off-peak times, as well as peak times. As an example - I write this whilst sitting in spectator on the server and there are 18 people online (including mysefl), none of which are staff members, opening the doorway to RDM'ers and trolls.
My experience allows me to provide an unbiased judgement on any situation, from a miniscule incident to a major occurence. Allowing me to have the opportunity to help out in the TTT server would be an awesome experience for me, as I enjoy the company of the players within and love to have a laugh with them all. Me being a moderator would not change me as a person, however it would allow me to help safeguard the server from those who wish to ruin the fun and excitement that happens within.
Finally, I feel like I can fit in well with the staff members on the server, which is important for a staff team. If there is anything that my experience has taught me in my previous experiences, it's that a staff team which doesn't "click", isn't a staff team at all. I have the ability to work well with my peers, but also make valid judgements by myself. I believe this makes me a reliable part of the Staff Team, as well as a great part of this community.
Thank you very much for reading my application, and I look forward to hearing from you!
Kind Regards,
- Kieren.
