Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario.
Well, since we're playing a roleplaying mod (DarkRP), every action has to have a reason. In this case, you're asking me what RDM is. Let's say that you have two players. Player X and player Y. Player X is roaming the streets and is mad for some reason, he approaches an innocent citizen, gets ahold of his weapon and bam. Headshots player Y, thus killing him without a valid reason. A valid reason would be player X raiding his base, trying to steal player Y's possessions, etc. In that case player Y has a valid reason to shoot-to-kill player X. Of course we mustn't forget about other rules like FearRP in most popular scenario, mugging. If a player threatens you and demands that you drop a sum of money not bigger than $4000 and you're not holding your weapon at the moment, you can't draw it and shoot him. You do have a reason to kill him, and are allowed to shoot-to-kill, thus not RDMing him, but then you didn't break RDM, but you broke FearRP. But if you saw your friend getting mugged, then you can help him out.
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario.
In DarkRP mod there's a something called NLR rule to provide fairness upon all players. Basically, when you spawn you're "given" an identity. You're someone in the system. You exist. When you die for whatever reason, your identity, character is marked as dead. But in this game you don't actually die, you respawn. You have infinite chances, too bad life isn't like that, right? Well let's say if a raider is raiding a base, and the player who bases in that base kills him, thus succesfully defending his base, or if a hitman starts shooting his target in a certain district and the target manages to kill the hitman, they must wait three minutes, before going back to that place and attempting the same thing they did when they were killed. You can do that after 3 minutes, but not in that 3 minutes. The most common thing people break with NLR involves something called RK. RK stands for revenge kill. Player X kills player Y. Player Y is furious and goes straight to player X and kills him, thus breaking NLR. There is much more to be said here, but I believe this is enough. If somebody doesn't get it, or isn't satistified with my answer, feel free to post below and I'll provide a 300 words explaination.
Explain "Metagaming" and give an example scenario.
Well, we have two chats. First one is called IC, which stands for in character chat and second one is OOC, which stands for out of character chat. As I mentioned in the NLR section and RDM section, we are playing a roleplaying game and we have identities. So when we are doing something that simulates roleplay, real life, we do that in IC chat, we like sell products, weapons in IC chat, we advert it etc. In the OOC chat you do all things which aren't included in the roleplaying. Metagaming is mixing IC and OOC chat, using it in your advantage or not. Metagaming isn't that much of an offense, but it can still be a serious issue if players metagame occasionally/oftenly. EG: Player X is basing. Player X gets killed by raiders. Player X yells in OOC chat (// HELP IM GETTING RAIDED), and that can startle his friends to come to his aid and help fend off the raiders, but his character actually died, if this was real life, he would have no way of messaging his friends that he died, so this is a big problem for raiders and a roleplay rule break.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x.
I would teleport player X to the sit, listen to what his side of the story, ask him if he has any 100% true proof, like a screenshot + a console log, if he does, then my chances of warning player Y are very high and I teleport the player Y to the sit too, I listen to his side of the story, I ask him if he has any proof that player X is lying or if he has any good arguments, if he does:
- then either I throw off the case, nobody gets warned, or both players get warned (this is very rare, but is happens - double rdm is a thing sometimes, or sometimes it happens that player X broke some other rule, but that's really rare), or just player Y gets warned, if his argument/proof is fauly/is a lie/isn't accepted by my side for a valid reason
if he doesn't or if he confesses then I do the following:
- I warn the player accordingly, but if the player Y is very kind and is really sorry, then I let him off with a verbal warning, if he doesn't have any previous warnings.
and if he doesn't (the first if - if player X doesn't have any proof), then I listen to both of their stories and I decide if I am going to warn player Y, if they confess I usually warn them, unless they're very kind and are really sorry, then I let them off with a verbal warning, if they don't have any previous warnings. If I can't decide, then I close the case and say that I can't do anything, because there's not enough proof from either side.
And if it turns out that the player X is lying or if player Y has proof that he did it for a reason, then I don't warn the player Y and I decide if I am going to give a verbal warning or some kind of an other warning to the player X for lying (they mostly report without the intent to lie, mostly by accident or out of rage. I am most concerned that most players are calm and that they create peace between each other, not about the warns. However if player X is insulting and yelling and is lying purposely, they get a warning. Same goes for player Y.
That's about it.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time.
Well, this one is pretty clear. You check the console. If it's NLR, player Y gets a warning for breaking the NLR. I can't think of any valid reasons for player Y to break the NLR, except for a few cases, like a hitman spotting his target in different district. I will always listen to both sides and hear out what do they have to say, then I'll make the final decision. But there's not much to talk about here to be honest.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided
I give him a verbal warning and teach him what metagaming is, because most players don't know about that rule. If he continues to metagame purposely after the verbal warn and the lesson and possibly starts spamming, he gets a real warn. If he keeps doing it, I warn him verbally agan and he possibly gets a second warn.
Why I should be chosen (we recommend around 150 words).
I am a very old player, I used to be in the orginal Harper gang and I love this community very much. My last warn was 10 months ago, I am always trying to be an exemplary person and not to break the rules, to help out other players with their problems, etc. I quit this server a couple of times, but I always returned out of the nostalgy and because of the awesome community and many friends I made here. I also used to be a mod and I loved being one a lot, I went through the training and I know alot already, so I am experienced. I want to help out the new players, to make many new friends, serve justice and voluntarily help the server out by serving justice, while maintaining peace among players. I want also to encourage other players to try and be a mod, to keep playing on the server and to enjoy it as much as I did and am. I also think for myself that I am a mature person, I am also bilangual, so that's also an advantage (not bragging, just showing off my good sides
). I am also a very active person, I have many hours, I started playing recently and I will continue to do so for atleast 1 hour a day, just check my playtime from today, I played for around 7 hours
. I really don't know what else to write, I look forward seeing you guys again. Much love <3.
EDIT: Added some words, fixed some spelling mistakes.
