Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin.
As a moderator, I show lots of attention towards users in and out of F1s and contribute to their problems. Whether this is in or out of an F1 doesn't matter, I show the same attention and bring the same punishment and support to the table. I have done many F1s ranging from RDM, prop block, and other complex things that can't really be generalized. The effort I put into each F1 sometimes goes without notice, but I thank users for their cooperation in the F1s that they are present in, and thank users for telling me how great of a job I've done.
For this and the last part, I've decided to write less than I usually do, as I write a bit too much in applications. As the saying goes, quality over quantity.
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user).
I was doing my regular job, handling F1s and such, when I came across two defiant users in a sit who rather ignored the problem at hand, only to antagonize one another and make each other have a bad time rather than learn. So, I froze them and handed out punishments fairly, and that's when more users started to get into the argument. After the two main defiant users were unmuted, the entire situation erupted into prop pushers, abusers, disrespecters, all 6 people were doing this to me as I tried to handle the F1. I decided at that point to call it quits and finish the F1, as it was solved already and going down into havoc. If I had admin powers in that situation, I could deal longer punishments to show that players would have action taken upon them if they kept up their act.
You can ask Morgan in case you don't believe me.
If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?
(I copy and pasted this from my last application, as the same information still applies. This was a strong point in my app, so I plan on keeping it.)
Hello, and congrats on becoming a staff member on SSRP! Before you go off to help others, read through these commands and menus so you know what you are doing.
F1 Menu
Shows these three things, depending on what menu you are on:
-Logs
Shows kills money drops, class changes, steamID, etc. Does not show the exact damage done to other players.
-Admin Requests
F1s made by other users are shown here, handle them as you described in your application.
-Warnings
Shows warnings of players on the server, use for copying SteamID and other steam related things.
F6 Menu
Shows ragdolls, jails, warns, kicks, bans, any staff related punishment to a player that's currently on the server, regardless of the expiration of the warn/ban.
/goto
Sets yourself to a player, relative to their 'y' distance on the map. Don't worry about 'y' distance unless they are in a raid as you handle the player who you went to.
/tp
Brings you, or a player to the place you are pointed at on the map. Be sure not to mess this up when bringing players to rooftops!
/back
Sets you or a player back to the recent place they were teleported from. Use this for finishing F1s and returning players. You can add 'spawn' at the end to send them back to spawn.
/freeze
Freezes a player in place. The player cannot do any movement actions, or look around. They also cannot use any weapons that they have out. Use this for defiant users.
/slay
Kills a player on command. Use this for killing a person who may have had a gun out that their class wasn't supposed to have, and you need to get rid of their weapon or make sure they holster it.
/warn
Warns a player for a rule they may have broken on a second offense or strict first offense. If there is a mass rule break, resort to kicking the player instead, or have an admin+ ban them for a certain amount of time.
/kick
Use this for defiant users who will either not learn from past mistakes on what rule they broke, or for massive rule breaks that don't fall under just warning or banning for a certain period of time.
/unwarn
Un warns a player for the warn they had. Use this if you make a false warn, or warn the wrong person.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology, and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for prop spam and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
Hello,
x,
You were banned a while ago for prop spam. On my behalf, you should know that prop spam is a serious issue around servers, and only disrupts RP at a massive rate. However, you explained yourself in great apology, and the staff team has decided to unban you. If you do this again, the punishment may not be appealable, or may take longer to appeal!
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 150 words)
From two months ago as a moderator, my skill has gone up tremendously. From the beginning, I was handling F1s somewhat strangely, not using all the terms I should've, and even handling some completely wrong. Those are times I don't want to go back to, as they were bad times. As an experienced moderator, I now know most, if not all of the situations I can and should handle, and how to do so. I've also tried handling events with admins, and I want to do some of my own to show that users can have fun on the server. With that, I also follow all of the rules on Zarp, as well as applying myself to mistakes I've done as a staff. The only recent mistake I have is from Saturday, which came after doing a few too many F1s, and false warning a guy. I and another staff member discussed it and agreed that it was a confusing rule to be warned for, and unwarned the user.
Anyway, thanks for reading my application. I'll do many more F1s this time, as break comes after a few hard tests on Monday. Thank you all for reading,
