Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin.
I feel that in the week I have been moderator so far, I have handled F1s in a way which I used to do, which was very straight to the point, and quite understanding towards the player, However, I can be very strict depending on the situation.
I have been able to get to know members from the lead team better, as well as other members of staff, so I believe that I am on good terms with the staff team as of now.
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user).
Well, I haven't really come across any yet, but when I was moderator for the first time around a year ago, I came across somebody prop spamming, and there was no admin or above online, so I had to be determined to find the person committing the offence, of course, I did in the end, and I kicked him then contacted a staff member which was an Admin who I can not remember the name of anymore, and the player was then permanently banned, as it was clearly just a random person who has chosen ZARP to be his next prop spamming playground.
If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?
Hey Man! Congratulations! You got promoted to moderator!
I'm writing to tell you how to be a good moderator, stay out of trouble, and show your authority in a reasonable manner!
These are the commands that you will have access to, which will allow you to complete the ton of f1s that players make daily:
/tp - This is used to teleport you to wherever your crosshair is aiming. You can also use /tp to teleport a player to where your crosshair is aiming by typing: "/tp [INSERT PLAYERS NAME/STEAMID HERE]".
/goto - This is used to simply 'Go to' a player. In order to use this command you would type: "/goto [INSERT PLAYERS NAME/STEAMID HERE]".
/back - This is used to return you to your last roleplay location, prior to teleporting to the F1. This can also be used to return the player to their last location. In order to use this command you would type: "/back [INSERT PLAYERS NAME/STEAMID HERE]".
/backspawn - This is used to return you to the designated spawn location. You can also return a player to spawn by typing: "/backspawn [INSERT PLAYERS NAME/STEAMID HERE]".
/freeze - This is very simple, this freezes the player selected. You can use this by typing: "/freeze [INSERT PLAYERS NAME/STEAMID HERE]".
/slay - This command isn't commonly used, as it doesn't really hold a value in my opinion. This is self explanatory, as it "Kills" or "Slays" the player selected. You can use this by typing: "/slay [INSERT PLAYERS NAME/STEAMID HERE]".
All of commands listed above, can also be accessed via the tab menu, where you can click icons, which in a lot of people's opinions, is easier than typing them out continuously.
And Finally:
/warn - Here at ZARP we use a 3 strikes and you're out system, which works: 1st Warning = Don't do It again. // 2nd Warning = I told you don't do it again, you're pushing it now, one more time and you're kicked. // 3rd Warning = Kicked from the server // 4th Warning = Temporary ban. However, if we feel like the player is getting warned too often and isn't providing any roleplay to the server and only causing hassle, a ban may be in place. Anyway, here's how to use the command:
You would type: "/warn [INSERT PLAYERS NAME/STEAMID HERE] [INSERT REASON HERE]".
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for propspam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
Hey man, I was the one who banned you due to the rule breaks you were committing.
From the effort and way you have written your appeal, I can tell that you are extremely sorry for your actions, so because of this I am going to un-ban you, However, I will be keeping an eye on you, as prop spam is a rule we think highly of, as it crashes the server in more extreme cases, so as you can probably understand, I need to keep an eye on you.
Well, I have said I am going to un-ban you so this has been Accepted.
Could a member of forum staff please lock this, I will un-ban you shortly.
Why I should be promoted?
I believe that I should be promoted because I think I can be a great admin. During the meeting, there was 10 F1s that were unanswered, some of them had 10 minutes priority on them, so I took it upon myself to finish all the F1s without help. I believe that this shows determination from myself, in wanting players to be happy, as well as keeping the server rule-break free, and dealing with any rule breakers.
I have been Admin and TeamSpeak Staff before, so that shows I have been trusted with powers, however, as a lot of you know, I took a turn for the worst and became a massive minge, causing a lot of people to dislike me and not trust me with anything. So I am making this application for 2 reasons mainly, Which are:
1. I want to be promoted to admin as I can complete F1s in an easier way due to the ability to pick up the player with my physgun, no-clip and most importantly, ban players.
2. I want to prove to the community that I have changed, and have returned to showing the authority that I once showed. I owe this to the community, because you have all supported me at my worst, and allowed me to still be here when I could easily have been banned for the stupid mistakes I made. But most importantly, I owe this to myself. I have put endless hours into trying to make a good impression on ZARP, and although I have been a minge, as I said, I have changed and want to grow as an important staff member in this community!
I want to be allowed the opportunity once more to have a higher say than I currently have, I want to be able to have a say on who the next admins to be accepted are, so please consider me for the role, as I believe it will be worth your while.
