Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario.
Random Death Match, commonly known as 'RDM' amongst SSRP Players, is one of the most common rules broken on the server, this is because the offense is pretty self explanatory. It quite simply means the killing of another player without a valid reason or relation to the Roleplay.
An example of 'RDM' is: Player X is walking down the street when he sees Player Y stood next to the Banker NPC. Player X decides to pull out his Tommy Gun that he acquired from the gang upgrade and shoots Player Y in the head without any valid reason behind it.
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario.
New Life Rule, commonly known as 'NLR' amongst SSRP Players, is when you return to your place of death (After dying of course) before 3 minutes has passed, after 3 minutes have passed, you can return to your place of death (You can tell when by looking at the red timer at the top of your screen.) An example of 'NLR' is: Player X is getting raided by Player Y, Player Y kills Player X as a result of the Orbital Strike that he has deployed upon Player X's base.
Player X returns to his base within the 3 minute period to kill Player Y.
Explain "Meta-Gaming" and give an example scenario.
Meta-Gaming is where the players converse over 'OOC' chat about In-Character related topics, such as a player's location or how they are going about raiding a base. However in some cases, Meta-Gaming can be where players discuss 'Out-Of-Character' (OOC) related topics, in the character chat channels, such as local chat or group chat.
An example of 'Meta-Gaming' is: Player X is trying to find Player Y as they are meeting up for a trade, and Player X asks Player Y where he is over OOC chat.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player X accuses Player Y of RDMing him, the console log shows that Player Y killed Player X.
I would teleport them both to a secluded area (i.e a rooftop) and ask them both what happened, starting with Player X as he made the report. I would then ask for Player Y's side of the story, if both story's correspond, I would warn Player Y for 'RDM' and return them both to their last locations prior to being teleported to the F1 Situation.
If the stories didn't correspond, I would need to ask Player X for proof of the event (i.e a recording, or sequence of screenshots to fully visualize the situation for me), and if he cannot provide any proof, then there will be nothing that I can do about the offence as the logs only show it being a kill, it could be a false F1 for all I know, this is why proof is crucial in these situations.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player X accuses Player Y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart).
I would teleport them both to a rooftop and ask them both what happened, starting with Player X as he made the report, I would explain that the logs only show a kill during that 3 minute period I talked about earlier, and I would continue to explain that this isn't enough proof that Player Y broke NLR, as it could have been Player X going to Player Y, instead of Player Y going to Player X. So as usual, I would ask for any recording or sequence of screenshots to help me come to a decision.
If there isn't any proof, I would say that I can't do anything about this and return them to their last locations prior to being teleported.
If there is proof, I would warn the player that is responsible for the offence and return them both back to their locations prior to being teleported.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player X calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided
I would warn this player without any hesitation as it is a clear breach of Rule 2.3 - Meta-Gaming, which I discussed earlier in my application, this ruins the roleplay experience for everyone else, If he needs help, he should use Group Chat, PM or any other In-Character Chat Channels.
Why I should be chosen.
Firstly, I'd like to apologise. I was caught hacking 3 weeks ago, and I've regretted doing it ever since, I made a lot of people lose trust in me, and most importantly give myself a bad name. I've been trying ever since that offence, to prove that I am not what everyone thinks I am, I just did a bad thing, at a bad time.
I believe that I should be chosen because I have shown that I know the rules quite well in this application.
I have been staff before, meaning I have been trusted with powers before, and also meaning I know what I'm doing with these powers.
Obviously, things went badly a couple of months back, due to the fact that I associate myself with two players that got community banned.
If you look at my GameTrackers, my activity is quite good, and in the last 2 weeks I have been in situations where my F1s aren't getting answered for as long as 31 Minutes! (but who's counting)
These are situations that I would be able to handle if I was given the moderator rank, so please consider me for this role.
Again, I couldn't blame you if you don't trust me because I hacked, but at least I admitted to it straight away instead of lying like other people.
I have been told to leave it 3 weeks or so until applying, as this could potentially be a reasonable period to re-gain trust, and I can only hope that I have some of you guys on my side!
Thank You For Reading My Application, and to everybody who has supported me in trying to re-gain trust: Thank You!
