In my time as a moderator, even if it may have been fairly short, I feel like I learned and improved a lot. I think I did a really decent job with my f1's, aswell do I think the users I helped mostly appreciated the time I took for helping and clearing up any situations. I learned how to use the given tools as a moderator effectively and they helped a lot in my f1's. In this time I learned again how much work it can be being a staff member, but I enjoyed what I did. Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user). Around the first time of me being a staff member again, I encountered this really disrespective user. I was a bit overwhelmed by the situation and had luckly an admin or 2 near who helped out. In this situation I noticed that I had to be even more strict towards disrespect, may it be against other players or me. Another Obstacle I encountered as a moderator, was the rank moderator not being able to do much in some situation or you just had to do it more complicated and time consuming. An example for this would be me helping someone who had reported an illegal base, as a moderator it can be quite frustrating to check a base out. The tp tool often spawns you out of the room. After you are in the base you then had to walk/tp yourself through the room which will also if you tp result in you quite often landing outside. At the end I still managed to complete the f1, but it just took so much more time than it would have originally needed. If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp? Hello and Welcome to the Zarp staff team, you have just been accepted as a new moderator, Congratulations! I will hereby describe the comments you will have access to and the other new menus you can use. F1 menu The F1 button changes quite a lot after becoming a staff member. With this menu you can see all the active f1's. If you accept a f1 you can also use it to right-click onto the F1 and goto the user or bring them, I recommend using goto. In the next part of the menu you can see all the recent warnings given out by staff members. The last tab will be one of your most important tools, the logs. With the logs you can see many things (e.g Kills, job changes, arrests). This tool is important but don't only rely on this. f6 menu with the f6 menu you can see all the warnings/anti-cheats//bans other players received commands -/kick Kick the player from the server|mostly needed if no other admins are on, e.g. cannot remove the props of an afk user otherwise -/warn warn a Player for a rulebreak -/unwarn remove the warning of a Player|useful if you falsely warned someone -/slay slay a Player|useful if they refuse to holster a weapon -/freeze freeze a Player|godly of they try to run away -/unfreeze unfreezes a Player -/tp teleports you or a user (steam-id/name) to the place you look at -/goto teleports you to the Player ./bring brings the player|useful if the player you wanted to tp is dead -/back teleports the player to the last location -/backspawn teleports the player back to spawn I hope this overview gave you the grasp you need, remember to be respectful to all users and use your powers responsibly. Explain how you would handle the following situation: Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for propspam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be? Hello Player X, thanks for the unban appeal. I see that you gave this a good amount of effort and that this is your first ban. You will be unbanned, however keep in mind that prop spamming can crash the server and ruin the fun for everyone. You might not be unbanned next time if you get caught prop spamming again. I hope that you use this chance wisely and also make sure to read the rules and get a good understanding of them. Accepted -Lock Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 150 words). I feel like in the time I have been moderator I did really well. I used my new gained powers for the server and the players. Being promoted to admin would be the next step for me, since as an admin mamy situations become easier to deal with and you have more time helping other people. You also have to ability to spectate which can help stopping someone before they ruin someone elses fun. You also get the ability to noclip and cloak yourself, this would help a great deal catching rulebreaks on the streets, but also checking bases, may they be building and have raidable entities inside or checking if a alreay existing base breaks any of the rules. If we look at me, i think that I can be trusted with these powers, I want to keep the server fun for people, myself including. I can trusted as I have not abused my powers as a moderator and I won't do it as an admin. |
