Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario.
Random Death Match (RDM) refers to a player killing another player within the RP world, without any valid RP reason. These valid RP reasons must follow the server rules as well, such as acceptance of others, racism rules, etc.
Example
Billy kills
UltraBagel because, as Billy claims, he was 'being too Mexican'. This also applies to the disrespect rule, as you can't disrespect a player in any way based upon gender, race, etc.
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario.
New Life Rule (NLR) is using information that you learned from a previous life in the RP world, and applying it to your new life in the RP world. Zarp has implemented an 'NLR Timer' so that players go back to their previous death point with caution.
Example
Jillian goes back to the raid she died in to defend her base.
Explain "Metagaming" and give an example scenario.
Metagaming is distributing RP information in a Non-RP area, or more commonly known as the OOC (Out of Character) chat.
Example
Jillian and
Billy are discussing where they should base in the Out of Character chat.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x.
First, player
X would be teleported to (not from) and asked to explain the situation to me. If there is a valid reason why player
Y commit RDM, then player
X would be taken to a rooftop to discuss the situation with player
Y, who would be brought to the rooftop. Player
Y would then be asked to explain their side of the story. Once this is done, player
X will be asked to show evidence that player
Y RDMed. If the evidence is valid, then player
Y will be warned. If player
X is wrong, or doesn't show good enough proof, both players will be teleported back to where they came from.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak at a time.
Player
X would be brought up to a rooftop to try and explain why and how player
Y may have been killing them extremely quickly. If the story contains valid reason why player
Y broke NLR, player
Y would be called up to explain themselves, and then let player
X explain him/her self. Regardless of the situation, players would be asked to show proof of an NLR break that shouldn't have been done. If valid proof is shown, player
Y will be warned. If player
X fails to show valid proof, then both players will be let off. I would be sure to watch player
Y a tiny bit, because there may have been some reason he shouldn't have broken NLR when no proof was shown (if applied).
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided
I would ask player
X in OOC chat: "Please do not Metagame in OOC chat, rather use the /pm feature this server provides, or a third party source". If the player fails to follow this, I would go up to them in person to ask them to stop. If they do not fulfill the task by then, they will be warned.
Why I should be chosen (we recommend around 150 words).
Communication
When it comes to communication, I'm a natural born listener. Whether it's a player that knows fully how to speak English, to one that's fairly new to the language, I will try my absolute best to understand what they're saying, and be sure to confirm with them that I'm hearing them correctly if I think otherwise. If there does come a point in which a player is completely not understandable, I will work around that problem, for example, asking the player to use the text chat, rather than voice chat (if that applies, if not, could be the other way around).
No Rule Breaking
As for my rule breaks, I have not been warned for quite some time. My last actual warn was for trying to prop push a car out of a mountain that I got stuck, and accidentally hit a Moderator. I learned from that experience, and will not prop push like that again. As for verbal warns, I will not lie about that. My most recent verbal warn was for breaking NLR as a mutant (a class that I'm just starting) because I kept trying to leave spawn through two different exits quickly at the same time, and while it was NLR break, it could've not been in a different perspective. Regardless, that will not happen again, and I feel there's no need whatsoever to file a forum argument about how this staff member should be demoted (if I were to remember their name, and if it was actual staff abuse. Nevertheless, I'm not mad at all, as it doesn't impact me all that much).
Activity
As for activity in the Zarp SSRP server, I've tried to be active every day for at least 2 hours (much more on some days) and I've kept that almost perfectly for the past week and a half. If I keep it up, I will have a two week constant activity by the staff meeting, which will be allowable for activity wise performance (as far as I know, Para told be two weeks activity is good). Obviously, I can't come on today as the servers are still down, but I will come on if they are fixed in time, and as for my lack of activity on Monday, I had a World History test that I needed to study for, and ended up failing. We all have those days ;A;
Attitude
My attitude towards others in game, as long as they try their best to respect me, is very kind, and I will never lash out at a player for no reason. As a user (VIP, technically), I try my best to help some players in trouble by explaining to them what they may have done wrong, how they should improve, and how to handle the situation in an F1. Handling the situation
never will include lying and disrespect, but all honestly and being as good as possible.
Summary
As a Moderator, I plan on bringing you good communication with players, no rule breaking at all, a great attitude towards others in game, great activity, and to sum it all up, a great Moderator.
Thank you for reading my application if you made it this far. I'd like to thank some people, especially ones like
Morgan, Jordan Johnston and
Fennster for being the inspiration for the format of this application. I tried my best not to steal their ideas. Thank you for reading,
