Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin.
My time as a moderator has helped me learn the ropes around the server, getting to know the rules more intimately and has provided situations that has improved my experience as a staff member. The time as a moderator has also shown me what is required of staff members, whether it be how to handle the F1's properly or how to handle difficult users.
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user).
I think the situation that was the biggest obstacle was the one I was talked to by Lead Team about. The situation itself was fairly simple, there was a printer underwater on Server 2, but since the player was AFK I guess I was a bit too quick to warn him, so later when I got on I talked to higher ups that knew where the printers where located, we agreed to look past the warning and if a situation like that occured again I should keep an eye out for who takes money from the printer.
If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?
Hello and welcome to the ZARP SSRP moderator team, glad you could make the cut. I am Nemesis and I am here to train you for you duties as a moderator.
Basics:
The F1 menu.
This menu is essential for all staff, this is no longer where you report rulebreakers, this is where you now take upon F1’s to handle them and punish rulebreakers. In this menu you can check current F1’s, handled and unhandled as well as recent warns and recent logs.
To take upon an F1, you right click it and click “Handle this” and “Mark as finished” when done.
The F6 menu.
In this menu you can check ALL punishments of a player, either from players online or by searching their SteamID.
Commands (All [SteamID] can be replaced by a player name which is NOT preferred as players can have very similar names):
/TP,
this command can be used to TP you to locations or by doing /tp [SteamID] you can teleport a player to where you are looking.
Example: /tp STEAM_0:1:20949893
/Bring,
is used like /TP's player TP option.
Example: /bring STEAM_0:1:20949893
/Back,
is used to return yourself or players to their last location or to spawn by using another command.
Example: /back STEAM_0:1:20949893 this TP’s them to their last location.
Example: /backspawn STEAM_0:1:20949893 this TP’s them to spawn.
/Goto,
is used opposite bring, to take you to another player. By writing /goto [SteamID]
Example: /goto STEAM_0:1:20949893
/Freeze,
is used to freeze a player rendering them unable to shoot and move, by doing /freeze [SteamID] remember to /unfreeze [SteamID] when done.
Example: /freeze STEAM_0:1:20949893 or /unfreeze STEAM_0:1:20949893
/Warn,
this is the punishment command. To use this command use it as so: /warn [SteamID] [Reason]. Rest is self-explanatory.
Example: /warn STEAM_0:1:20949893 mass RDM
/Kick,
is used in emergencies for moderators for severe prop spammers or rulebreakers if you can’t get a hold of an admin, try to freeze prop spammers instead though. Command is used as so /kick [SteamID], I do believe you can also do /kick [SteamID] [Reason] though I have never had to try.
Example: /kick Nemesis
All these commands can also be done through the scoreboard by clicking a player’s name. This is also where you can grab their SteamID if need be.
These are what you need, but remember abuse any of this and you can lose your rank and trust from the staff! Good luck.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for propspam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
Hello. I have read throught your ban appeal and since it seems you are truly sorry and since this was your first ban I decided to talk to Lead Team. We have come to the conclusion that we will
ACCEPT your ban appeal.
Your ban will be shortened to 1 week as propspamming is still severe, as it could potentially crash the server.
Remember to read the rules
here an extra time in the meantime.
Have a nice day and enjoy your time on ZARP.
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 150 words).
I should be chosen to be promoted due to my sense of duty. I do not half ass F1's, most of the time I even check out situations before handling them, whether it be through logs or some other means to get a better grasp of a situation before talking to players. I take staff duties seriously, not even giving special treatment to friends whom I play with since what image would I be for ZARP's staff team if I allowed friends to break rules while punishing others. I also usually try to talk to higher ups, sometimes multiple off them, if there is something I am unsure of how to handle to make sure I understand it fully.
ZARP is a great server and I want to help it stay clean of rulebreakers and I do believe that as an admin that will make this easier. See you around.
