Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario.
RDM is defined as per the rules as,
‘In order to kill a player, you must have a roleplay-valid reason to do so.’ Translated to simpler terms, don’t kill anyone unless you have a reason.
A great example of what is RDM and what isn’t would be when raiding. If you are stood outside a base, that isn’t your own, and there is no ‘KOS if Loitering’ sign, and you are instantly sniped, that would class as RDM. A valid reason to kill would be if the person standing outside the house, has made an attempt to break into the base, where he is actually initiating a raid.
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario.
The New Life Rule is defined as,
‘Do not return or interact with the area of your death (between two tunnels) that you died until 3 minutes has passed. There is a timer at the top of your screen. If you died in the spawn area, leave it promptly through the nearest tunnel or AFK at spawn, you must also forget everything about your previous life and start a new one, as from it's name "New Life Rule”’. Again, in simpler terms, this means that wherever you were killed, is a no-go zone for three minutes after the death. In addition to this, your forget everything that has previously happened, excluding long memories such as gang affiliations, owned vehicles etc.
An example of the NLR would go as follows: You are killed in your base during a raid, yet your friend is the last one standing. You decide to strike from behind and assist your friend in the raid again. This is an example of breaking the NLR.
Explain "Metagaming" and give an example scenario.
Again, I will use the same format as before, starting with the original rule. As the rules state,
‘In Character related information should merely be relayed (when appropriate and coincident with the other rules) through the In Character channels. This also applies vice-versa, as out of character information should not be used in character.’ In a simple format, metagaming is not using any information gained from the outside world to assist you in game. This includes the OOC chat. The in-character channels are classed as the TAB menu, nametags (however this can be classed meta in some situations), and normal chat channels including advert.
An example of metagaming would be to contact your friends through skype or steam, telling them to come to a certain area for a raid and then initiating the raid with each other through the skype call or steam message so the occupant of the base doesn’t hear a word.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x.
To begin with, I would get the initial story and any evidence he/she has from the accuser. II would then review the evidence and this would allow me to carry on with the sit. Next, I would bring the accused, asking for his side of the story, purely from him, not allowing to accuser to speak during the situation. After getting both sides, I would either issue a punishment to the correct party, or pursue the RDM further if there is an issue with both the players arguing or causing a fuss.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time.
Again like the incident above, I would ask for the accusers point of view and any evidence he has, then would do the same to the accused. As the evidence I had before the sit is valid, the ‘interrogation’ part of the sit would decide the final outcome, as the accused will either lie or tell the truth, or maybe even a mix of the two.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided
I would first spectate the player and wait until the raid is over as him breaking a small rule like this should not result in him loosing his printers and other entities with no real fight. While doing this, I would advise him in the OOC to not use OOC for help and to either message the police or advert something along the lines of, ‘The X bank alarm has been triggered. Requesting immediate police response’, as this is good RP. If he carries on with it, I would bring him to a secluded area and explain the importance of not using OOC for IC situations.
