Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario.
Random Death Match, also known as 'RDM' is where one player kills another player for no valid reason, this commonly occurs in DarkRP and TTT. Most punishments in DarkRP result as a warn. For example:
Player x the Thief kills Player y the citizen with because he had an ugly face, would be Random Death Match.
Player x the Gangster kills Player y the drug dealer because he didn't have any drugs to sell, would be Random Death Match.
Player x the Police Officer kills Player y the Thief because the police are raiding their base, would NOT be Random Death Match.
All of these scenarios that were RDM would result as a warn.
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario.
New life Rule, also known as 'NLR', is where a player is either being raided or killed and they respawn and straight away go and seek revenge or protect their base without waiting their time. For example:
Player Q is raided by Player R and Player S, Player Q gets killed and respawns, without waiting their time, Player Q goes straight to his base to recover their possessions, would be breaking New Life Rule.
Player Q is killed by Player R, Player Q respawns and kills Player R, would be breaking New Life Rule.
Player Q the Police Officer is raiding Player S and gets killed, Player Q respawns and continues to raid Player S, would NOT be breaking New Life Rule.
All of these scenarios that were breaking NLR would result as a verbal waning or a normal warn.
Explain "Metagaming" and give an example scenario.
Metagaming is where a player uses the OOC (out of character) chat to announce something that is going on in the rp game. For example:
Player J the Prison Guard says in OOC "Help, PD is being raided", would be metagaming.
Player J the Gun Dealer says in OOC "Come to my gun shop for the best cheap guns", would be metagaming.
Player J the Shop Owner makes an advert saying "Come to my shop with the best blueprints in store", would not be metagaming.
The scenarios that were metagaming would result in a warn.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x.
Firstly I would teleport the two players on to a rooftop and I will ask for both sides of the story and if I believe it was RDM then a warn will be carried out to player y. If it wasn't RDM I would explain to player x why it wasn't. After that I would teleport the players to their original position.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time.
Again I would take the situation to a rooftop so it doesn't disturb other players, I would first check if player y was a Police officer at the time and then ask for both sides of the story and if I believe player y was breaking NLR then I would warn him, if I do not then I would explain to player x why he wasn't breaking NLR. Once the situation is handled I would teleport the players back to their original position.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided
I would teleport to player x and just verbally warn him that he was metagaming and that its against the rules, also I would familiarise player x with the concept of metagaming,
Why I should be chosen (we recommend around 150 words).
I believe I should be taken on as ZARP staff because I think that I have the skill to step up the standards of ZARP gaming. Also I have had previous moderator experience from a TTT server so I am familiar with expectations and how to deal with awkward players. I think I should be a moderator because I am a loyal player of ZARP as I have a reasonable ammount of game time spent on the server, also I have ZARP VIP which shows that I am committed to this server and I am a serious player. When I have previously been involved in situations with staff I think there is a high standard however on the odd occasion I get a bad member of staff which then sparks my motivation to become a moderator so I can step up to the standard and I can potentially do a better job than some members of staff.
Thank you for your time. -Jack
