Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario.
RDM or Random death match is the killing of someone without and valid RP reason behind it, some examples of this can be:
1. Jeff walks down a road and a thief walks up the other way, the thief doesn't like the way Jeff is dressed. So he shoots him.
2. Phil is playing the role of a mutant, he is just outside spawn, not in any of the designated districts, he then stabs and kills Jeff. His reason for this being "I’m a mutant I can kill anyone". This therefore breaking the rules.
3. A hitman is walking around and see's someone, he shoots them for the fun of it. His reason being "he looked at me funny". This is random as a hitman should only kill people he has a hit on, or police trying to kill him after they see him shoot someone.
4. A thief walks into the PD. He says to a cop "I want to speak to the mayor". The cop turns around and kills him saying "you're not allowed to be in the lobby". This breaking the rules as anyone is allowed in the lobby of the PD unless told otherwise.
5. A gangster is sitting on the roof of his apartment and snipes Jeff by the fountain. This is RDM as he had no real reason to kill Jeff.

Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario.
NLR or the New Life Rule is a rule which is put in place to prevent players from returning to the same area that they were last killed for 3 minutes. It also prevents them remembering what they knew from their first life. Some examples of this are;
1. Jeff is a mutant, he gets killed outside of the bank. Because he was killed outside of the bank he cannot return there. Therefore if he wants to go to the other side he should go through the tunnels and around through spawn or through the factory district and around. But still avoiding the bank.
2. Jeff is raiding a base built in the hotels by the fountain. Unfortunately he gets killed. Because he was killed in the hotels. He cannot return to the hotels. Therefore he shouldn't enter the hotels until his 3 minutes is up.
3. Jeff is carjacking somebody outside of the PD. He gets caught by the owner and gets killed. Because he is killed outside the PD he is not allowed to return to the PD district within the 3 minute timer. If he did so he would be breaking NLR.
4. Jeff is a police officer. In Jeff’s line of work he gets put at risk many times a day. This time he was killed whilst trying to protect the bank from raiders. Because he was killed he cannot return to the bank within the 3 minutes. By doing so he would break NLR. Without knowledge of the bank being raided he shouldn't return for RP reasons unless called.
5. Jeff is now a gun dealer. During a transaction a mutant steals his guns with a customer. Because they stole his guns he chases the mutant into the mutant’s tunnels and is killed. If Jeff was to return to the mutant tunnels within the 3 minutes he would be breaking NLR as he has broken the timer, and he remembered his guns were stolen.
(Jeff just isn't very lucky)
Explain "Metagaming" and give an example scenario.
Meta or Metagaming is a very simple rule to understand. Metagaming is the use of Out Of Character chat as In Character chat. Some examples being;
1. Jeff says in OOC; "Can I buy some diamond pickaxe blueprints please". This is metagaming because what he is trying to do, purchase blueprints, is for in character role-play. Therefore he should have correctly used the /advert command.
2. Jeff now says in OOC; "Hey, Jim Where you at bro?” This is also not allowed. Because of the fact he is trying to find someone In Character location. He should have used the personal message command. /pm.
3. Jeff has now gone on to become mayor, Jeff now says in OOC "There is a lockdown, you have 30 seconds to get indoors or you will face arrest". This sentence in OOC is breaking the Metagaming rule as what he said is for an In Character situation. Correctly, he should have used /advert.
4. Jeff sees that somebody has placed a hit on him. Jeff then says in OOC "If I see a hitman I’m going to kill them". Because he said this on OOC it is against the metagaming rule as it is an In Character situation.
5. Jim replies to Jeff in OOC saying "Jim I’m over by the gas station". This is metagaming as using OOC for IC reasons is breaking the metagaming rule.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x.
I would start by bringing the player X, and ask him what seems to be the problem. I would explain to him that I will ask player Y if he did RDM you as it would save time and might work even though it doesn't normally work.
I would then bring player y and freeze him in case he is angry or mass rdming he might continue to shoot me and player X. Because of this risk it will save a lot of time of having to restart the sit.
As stated earlier I would proceed to ask player Y why he RDM'd player X.
Path 1: Player Y confesses to RDMing player X. Because he has admitted to RDMing player X I will proceed to warn the player Y for RDMing player X I would then explain what RDM is in detail to make sure he has an understanding for future so he has no reason to do it again.
Path 2: Player Y doesn't confess to RDMing player X and because of this I would then ask player X if he has any proof that it was an RDM. If player X has no proof then I would continue to explain that I cannot punish Player Y as there is no proof stating that player Y has actually RDM'd. I would then explain what RDM is in detail to make sure he has an understanding for future so he has no reason to do it again.
Path 3: Player Y doesn't confess to RDMing player X and because of this I would then ask player X if he has any proof that it was an RDM. If player X does have proof then I would ask him to send it to me. I would then look at the proof to see whether it is sufficient or not. If the evidence is sufficient I would proceed to warn player Y for "lying to moderator". I would then explain what RDM is in detail to make sure he has an understanding for future so he has no reason to do it again.
I would then finish the sit and return player X so he can carry on roleplaying. I would then explain to player Y that if he doesn't have a clear understanding of the servers rules he can refresh by simply typing !motd and then I will return him so he can also carry on roleplaying.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time.
I would bring both players X and Y. I would ask player Y whether he has broken NLR.
Path 1: Player Y admits to breaking NLR. I would continue to warn player Y as he has broken the server rules. (If he has no prior warnings or hasn't had any in a long time, I will be a little easier and may only give him a verbal warning depending on history and situation at hand.)
Path 2: Player Y doesn't confess to breaking NLR. I would then proceed to ask player X whether he has any proof. If play X doesn't have and sufficient evidence of player Y breaking NLR then I would inform both parties of the situation. Remind them that NLR isn't allowed and return both parties as there is no sufficient evidence.
Path 3: Player Y doesn't confess to breaking NLR, I would then proceed to ask player X whether he has any sufficient proof. If he has proof I will ask him to send me it and I will look over it carefully watching to make sure the party accused it definitely the party in the video. If the evidence is sufficient I would continue to return Player X and tell him that the evidence was sufficient and thank him for his F1. I would then speak to player Y about NLR (as stated previously warn him appropriately). I would inform him to use !motd to refer to the rules or to ask me if he has any more questions about the rules.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided
I would inform player X over OOC that it is metagaming. "Please don't metagame". This counting as a warning to player X to stop metagaming.
If he continues to do so I would bring him and explain to him that he is Metagaming and that it is strictly not allowed. I would then inform him I am going to warn him and go on and do so for Metagaming. I will tell him where to find the rules to refresh his memory on the rule and if he has any further questions on the matter to ask me. And I would continue to return him.
Why I should be chosen (we recommend around 150 words).
I believe that I should be chosen because I have a lot of past experience with moderation, administration and even ownership.
I have got a total of 2353 hours on Garry’s mod. In this time I have played over 1750 hours on darkRP servers and have been a moderator on several servers. Over this time I have gained lots of knowledge and valued expertise of how to deal with situations and how I should not only have fun on the server. But dedicate my time to making the server fun for other players. When there is a lot of players online, my time should be put towards not only having fun myself, but making it fun for other people.
As I have requested to be a moderator then I believe I should do my job as a moderator. If I receive this rank then I will dedicate my time to helping the server run more smoothly and effectively as it is a rank that I chose and wasn't forced into and therefore I should do it to the best of my ability.
I believe that with my moderation skills of being able to handle situations and to be able to review evidence sufficiently then I believe I would make a perfect mod. Because of my past experience if there are any moderators who aren't sure on how to deal with a situation then I can help them learn the ropes and help teach them to help the server run more efficiently.
Now down to me personally. I'm a good person. I really am, not many people in game see that part of me because I have lost my **** recently with some situations popping up to do with staff not doing f1's or ignoring players who desperately need help. And this is kind of why I am here today to apply for moderator. I believe that with a server this popular that staff should be very willing to dedicate their time to replying to admin requests as they have requested the rank and they should use it to help the players so when I see them not doing so it does annoy me as it is a rank they chose.
But honestly. As James stone. He was the admin dealing with all of my sits when I first started out on the server. I was RDM'd 17 times in 1 1/2 hours. He dealt with ALL of my situations. He was superb! And he has influenced me to strive for the perfection that he offers the server. I kept my cool for 2 hours of rdm's, CDM's and disrespect towards me. He dealt with it all and got ALL of it sorted and thanks to him I am still here today.
I am a nice person until you cross me really, if you cross me to intentionally get me in trouble even though you know very well I haven't done anything wrong then I will fight my battles. If I know I have wronged I will admit it. I will not put up a fight if I have wronged. There is no point in lying, no one is perfect everyone gets a warning from time to time for stupid things. I got one for NLR earlier, I admitted it, and it saved me time and pain. It got the situation dealt and resolved in seconds.
I also realise. I have got 18 hours on this server and I hope that this doesn't affect your judgement on my skills as a a moderator. If you believe that you cannot trust me I do understand but I ask you give me a trial period to show myself for who am and what I can do.
