Deathrun Related Information:
What is Ghosting? and give an example:
Definition:
Ghosting is when a dead death or runner relays potentially useful information or otherwise unknown information to those alive from their spectating position to those alive, death and runner alike. Reason being is that those alive may miss potentially helpful information and giving them any useful information related to the current round in play at all as a deceased player will result in a punishment, or at least a verbal warning.
Example:
Player A, B and C are playing on the Deathrun map- Helix. Now Helix is a difficult map too some, and also a map with high ghosting potential. Regularly, people break the Ghosting rule on this map and that is why I have chosen this as a prime example. Player A is the alive runner, Player B is the dead runner (also applies to deaths) and Player C is the other dead runner who received the code in the first place. Player A has made it roughly 3/4 of the map and has now gone through the portal and arrived at the code area of the map. Previously, Player C has pressed the button which shows the code to the puzzle on a panel with 9 numbers to the right and Player B had seen this as he was dead whilst spectating Player C. Now, Player C forgot to say the code whilst he was alive, and being a good player had not said it during his time of being dead. Player A now has arrived at the time to enter the code and has no clue what it is and says the following in all chat:
Player A: Hey, what's the code?
Player B: The code is 764 (real code, ghosting does not apply if it's a
blatantly fake code).
Player B just broke the ghosting rule by relaying useful information whilst he was dead to the alive runner- Player A when Player A obviously did not know the code. This later causes the deaths to get frustrated due to the fact that it's unfair and a form of cheating thus there's a rule against it.
How would you deal with a disrespectful player?:
First of all, I would ask them formally, respectfully and assertively to stop disrespecting others or there will be punishments put into action. If they do stop after I have asked them too, I would ask them to give a polite and meaningful apology to those they attacked. If not, I would warn them, not gag or mute because they didn't continue. Now, if they didn't get the verbal warning, I would gag them if they are disrespecting over voice chat, mute them if they are disrespecting over text chat then warn them for Disrespect. If they still continued, I would do the same, if they did it a third time I would kick them and ask an Admin to ban them for Mass Disrespect/Continued Disrespect.
Why I should be chosen:
Well, I believe I should be chosen for a Deathrun Moderator because I have been active over the past week or so, and according to several members of the Lead Team I have adequate gametime and activity. As this isn't enough to show my dedication to Deathrun, I have been extremely helpful to those in need in Deathrun, telling people how to do things and informing people on the rules and current exploits of the maps. For those who may not know, I have experience in staffing Zarp servers as I was a Zarp TTT and SSRP Administrator, both for several months without a single demote request, on top of this, I am currently a Section Moderator for these Forums. This also meaning I can be trusted with moderator powers.
Although I believe I have a grip of the rules and I know them well, I do currently have one recent warning for Death Avoid from The Doctor. The story behind it was that at the end of a runner round on Atomic Warfare, I had to desperately speak to my parents about something very private and important and due to this I had to go AFK, being mentally dragged off of my computer (my parents didn't literally drag me off, but I knew I would be in deep trouble if I didn't go ASAP) I could only type "brb" and could not disconnect. Unfortunately for me, next round was my death round and I was AFK for the majority of it, not all, because I got back just as the runners got to the end. I have spoken to a member of the Lead Team about this and they have said it's a false warning if it is true but I have no proof behind it so there's no action taken. I know it doesn't matter truly as some won't believe it, but once again I'm truly sorry for holding up the round for the runners (may I add there was no deaths apart from me).
Thank you so much for reading my application, and remember, this is for next week's meeting!
