Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario.
Random Death Match (abbreviated "RDM") is when a player kills or initiates combat (with the use of a firearm, weapon, or damaging object thereof) in a situation in which the attacked player has not been introduced to (RP).
Example:
Player A is walking down towards the bank.
Player B, walks up to the player and blows him away with a shotgun.
This is RDM as no contact prior to the actual conflict and has killed the player with no valid RP reason.
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario.
The New Life Rule ("NLR") is a rule that firstly, makes murdered players forget their past life, and secondly, does not allow them to return to their district in which they were killed and not to take revenge upon their attacker.
Example:
Player A has been killed near the bank, during a raid on his compound.
Player A returns to his compound before the 3 minute timer has expired, shoots the raiders from behind and saves his stash of loot and contraband.
This is a breakage of NLR as the player has remembered what happened in their past life (raid) and has returned to take revenge before the timer has expired.
Explain "Metagaming" and give an example scenario.
Metagaming is when;
IC information is given in OOC
This is when a player would ask in OOC an IC related subject, such as:
(OOC) swagdud1: Help guys come to vault
This is passing on IC information through OOC, which is metagaming as he speaks to everyone on the server, which he would not be able to do in his situation (unless he PMs everyone).
OOC information is used IC
This is when OOC information is used IC or used to their character's advantage, which is unfair as IC the player does not see OOC, and so would be unable to obtain that information.
(OOC) luckylad: Wow that cop just passed me didn't realsise that I had contra xddddddd
And then a law enforcement member proceeds to raid him without receiving information IC about the contraband.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x.
I would at first, take both players up to a space where I can deal with the situation. After apologising for interrupting their RP, I would explain that I have been informed of an RDM, and that while I am going to be looking into the issue they will remain here. I would take both player's accounts separately (asking if they have any other evidence to present), visit the scene to add any circumstantial evidence and cross examine their stories. If the stories do not match and I am left with no other proof other than their stories, I would have to apologies to player x and say that I am unable to continue the investigation due to insufficient proof - and I would remind him that this F1 will always be in his favour if player y RDMs again. I would release both players and continue onto the next F1.
IF, however, there is proof / evidence that comes to light, I would make my decision based on the player's warnings, ban record and circumstances at the time. Acting upon those variables, I would issue a kick, warning or a ban.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time.
NLR is a very difficult accusation to investigate against as there are many variables to consider;
- What the circumstances were
- The setting of the accusation
- Movements of the players
And more.
I would at first, take both players up to a space where I can deal with the situation. After apologising for interrupting their RP, I would explain that I have been informed of an NLR breakage, and that while I am going to be looking into the issue they will remain here. I would take both player's accounts separately (asking if they have any other evidence to present), visit the scene to add any circumstantial evidence and cross examine their stories.
I would also take into account where the murder was held - if in another district, it could be moved to an RDM case or dropped as it could've been self defence.
It could be that player y killed player x because player x attacked him first?
As there are many upon many instances to consider, I would draw my conclusion under these criteria;
Has the murder been justified?
Has the player re-entered the district after 3 miniutes?
Is there a reason?
Did player x move?
Then, if there is evidence of NLR breakage, I would make my decision based on the player's warnings, ban record and circumstances at the time. Acting upon those variables, I would issue a kick, warning or a ban.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided
I would kindly PM the player asking him not to chat in OOC for help (as I don't want to disturb him, stop his RP, or waste time when I could be doing another F1), and if he does continue after 3 warnings, I would issue a warning, kick or ban based on his previous record.
Why I should be chosen (we recommend around 150 words).
(My game time isn't great, I'll admit. But I have spent over 50 hours on another semi-serious RP server which I left not long ago - I have a good understanding of universal RP rules and I have already adapted to and learnt the ones in ZARP.)
I'm not going to be like most admins - I don't see F1s as something I am REQUESTED to do. I enjoy helping people and solving their problems. I'm going to see solving F1s as a DUTY to the server and myself - to improve the experience of gamers on the servers by removing those that break the rules to ensure that servers run as smoothly and as nicely as possible by taking on a proactive response role to prevent, deter and act upon rule violations.
As a person, I have the ability to demonstrate a realistic appreciation of the role and duties involved within the post of a moderator. I have the highest levels of personal integrity, honesty and conduct along with effective communication skills and a strong element of community and player focus. I am also able to perform under pressure with effectiveness, emotional resilience, respect and understanding of equality and diversity and demonstrate effective team working skills at the same time.
All of these values presented would make me a professional, friendly, caring member of staff that focuses on the player's case - not my on-going RP.
Thanks,
Xynox
