As a Moderator I have had a great experience learning how to deal with all kinds of F1s from questions about the server all the way to Mass RDMers. It has taught me how to keep calm in situations and it has also taught me which types of punishments a user should get for their actions. Overall all the information that I have learnt over my time of being a moderator so far will help me as an Admin as I will know what types of punishments to give to certain rule breakers and I will also be able to help no Moderators out if they ask me similar questions that I asked admins when I had first become a Moderator. Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user). There was one user that was reluctant to listen to me, he had broken several rules ranging from FailRP to RDM. He had been playing as a Citizen and randomly throwing grenades, he also broke NLR several times through out the day. He still plays the server but tends to get 4 warning leading to his temporary ban very often this normally happens because he repeats the same thing that happened in my F1 with him, he will have broken a couple of warns but he is reluctant to accept that and blames it on the severs fault that he can't be a gangster then I give him his warning for RDM/FailRP and he will disrespect me so I will give him another warning resulting in a kick. In this instantces he rejoined the server and used OOC to curse about me at which point I decided I wouldn't kick him but another Admin did so he got a temporary ban after his ban expired he came back on and received to more warning before talking with a Head Administrator claiming that they were false. In the end, none of his warns were removed and I see him RPing on the server still. If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp? Hello and congratulations! You are one of the few people who have successfully been voted in as a Moderator! This post will give you the ins and ouwts of everything you need to know as a Moderator! I will explain to you all the commands you will ever need to use and explain the situation in which you should use them so you don't abuse them! /slay This command isn't used very much but the purpose of it is to kill a user. Syntax: /slay <Name> <Normal/Silent/Rocket/Explode> /goto This command is required for more urgent F1s if you are available to go to an urget F1 where somebody is Prop Flying ect.. or if they just want you to look over their base and see if it is legal. Syntax: /goto <Name> /tp The teleport command is very useful, if you are Mod on Duty and you see someone prop surfing down a tunnel you can quickly /tp to them to see who it is and then giving them an appropriate punishment. You can also use /tp to teleport a player to where your crosshair is currently aiming, this is useful to teleport people off the roof you are doing your F1 on or to teleport them on to the roof. Syntax: /tp <Name> /back The back command is very useful because if you have had to /goto someone and then you need to return to your previously location you can quickly do so by using /back. You can also use /back on players in your F1. Syntax: /back <Name> /freeze You should use the freeze command if someone is trying to escape your F1 situation, you should also use it if you see someone attempting to Mass RDM but as soon as you Freeze them you must TP them to a roof. Syntax: /freeze <Name> <Time in Seconds> /warn The warn command is used to distribute warnings to players, if you have seen them break a rule or someone in your F1 has valid proof then you should collect their SteamID from holding TAB clicking their name and then clicking their SteamID to copy it. If the same user receives 3 warnings they will get automatically kicked, once they join back if they receive another warning they will get banned for one hour. Syntax: /warn <SteamID/Name> <Reason> /kick This is the command that you use to instantly kick a player from the server, it is recommended that if you ever do need to use this command you use the TAB menu to avoid kicking multiple or incorrect players. Syntax: /kick <SteamID/Name> <Reason> F1 Menu The F1 menu has now changed now that you are a staff member, instead of allowing you to create and F1 you see all the F1s that people have created, it is split into four rows, the first shows you how long ago the F1 was created (in seconds), the second shows you the user who created the F1, the third shows you the reason for the F1 and finally the fourth shows you which Staff Member is handling the F1. The F1 menu also has 2 other tabs which show you the all the warnings that have been done since the last restart and final tab is the logs where you can search a players name and find out everything they have done and everything that has happened to them in the last ten minutes. F6 Menu This is currently broken for Moderators on Server 1 so if you want to see the F6 menu you will have to be on Server 2. The F6 menu allows you to see all punishments that have ever been done, you can search by SteamID to see people who are not currently on the server. Admin Chat To use admin chat you simply type "/// Hello" to say something in admin chat it is similar to talking in OOC except you just add one more forward slash. You can use this to request an Admin to your F1 if you feel the user needs a temporary ban. You can also use it to ask questions and generally just talk with all staff online. Mod on Duty You will now be able to become a Mod on Duty in the Jobs section of the F4 menu. This means that roleplaying players can no longer arrest, kill, mug, kidnap or assault you, if they do then you may warn them depending on if you feel it was accidental or not. Whilst Mod on Duty you cannot print, mug, raid or do anything RP related you can just walk around making sure nobody is rule breaking and you should always be doing F1s until there are none left whilst Mod on Duty. Keypad Checker Tool You will now always have a Keypad Checker Tool equiped that you can quickly change to and shoot it at any Keypad/Thruster/Button or Fading door to what it is linked to and for what time. Unbanning from a job If you feel you need to unban a user from a job role because they were either randomly demoted or they have been demoted for a long enough duration that they should now be unbanned simply go to the TAB menu click their name click Unban from job then select all the jobs they need to be unbanned from. Explain how you would handle the following situation: Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for propspam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be? Hello player X, I ave read through your ban appeal and I can understand that you are apologetic about what took place on the server at DATE, I understand you would like a second chance on Zarp, you still broke a rule that caused the server to lag/crash so I will reduce your ban to a week ban. I hope that during this time you will read over our rules and make sure that when you return you won't ruin this second thank I am giving you. Ban Appeal - Accepted Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 150 words). I feel I should be promoted to the Admin position because I have learnt a lot from being Mod and helped the server a lot from being Mod. Since becoming Mod I average around 8 hours a day on the server. Admin will help me during them 8 hours every day because I will be able to deal with prop block situations and be able to freeze multiple people with my fix gun if there is many people RDMing. It iwll also mean I can get through F1s quick as I can /goto the player make sure they aren't busy then physgun them to a roof. It will improve efficiency of my time as staff and it will also give me slightly more respect in F1 situations because some people disrespect Moderators a lot. I really hoped you enjoyed reading my application and hope that you can give me feedback! Many thanks, - Jackeylegz |

<strong>First and foremost,</strong> we'd like to thank you for making the effort to apply for a rank on the ZARP Semi Serious DarkRP. Your application has been discussed at an administrative meeting, and from there it has been voted on.
As the number of 'yes' votes exceeded the number of 'no' votes you received, you have been <strong>accepted</strong>. Towards the bottom there is a button leading you to a download of a 'welcome pack' (moreso intended for new moderators) - this will give you a brief insight into your duty and how to do it, but before we can give you your rank you will have to attend a training session. You can ask any superadmin for your training.. You need to attend a weekly meeting on our Teamspeak server (IP is 94.23.19.200), it would also be appreciated if you can click the banner in my signature and add me on steam so that we can manage the meetings more easily. Congratulations on behalf of the administrative team. |
