Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario.
A citizen is buying a gun from the cash register gun shop and a thief comes up and without mugging him, kills the citizen for no apparent reason. If the register gun shop was inside the building they were raiding though, then it wouldn't be RDM, he would've been killed in the raid.
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario.
Two gangsters are raiding a drug dealer's base. The dealer throws a Slam and kills one of the gangsters but not both. The dead one cannot come back until his NLR time is over. This keeps people who just died from coming back to or interacting with anyone near their area of death, resulting in better roleplay.
Explain "metagaming" and give an example scenario.
When in-character information is relayed through out-of-character chat (// or /ooc), such as "hey I'd like to buy an M4A1", that message should be sent through local chat, or a private message towards the gun dealer. It should not be sent through out-of-character chat because it is an in-character action.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x.
I would confirm with them that player Y did in fact kill player X. Then ask player Y why he killed player X. If he can't come up with a good reason that he can back up with evidence. I would give him a warning for the first offence.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time
At peak server activity, if those kills were farther apart in time, they would be farther apart in console. I would say that player y did break NLR, since the kills are so close together, probably under a minute from when he died. I would warn him for breaking NLR rules.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided
That is an example of metagaming. I would let him know that it is metagaming and tell him not to do it anymore, then warn him for it.
Why I should be chosen (we recommend around 150 words).
I have been a Zarp moderator before. Back when you could pay for it and get the VIP features and moderator. I did a pretty decent job at it but Zarp took away paid moderator even if they were good at it. I've only grown in maturity since then and think I'd do an even better job now! I'm a fun guy but very serious when the situation calls for it. Another reason for you to choose me as moderator is my playtime, I'm on the server usually around 3 hours a day, usually much longer on weekends. I'm usually near the computer or check it often so if someone steam messaged me that help was needed on the server, I would be able to log on for a few minutes and sort things out. Overall, I think that is why I would be a good choice for moderator.
