Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin:
I feel that my time as moderator has contributed alot. Most of the time when I am on the server I am on duty. If I roleplay I am very quick to make sure I get the F1s coming up so other staff members can continue the rp.
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user):
This actually happened the other day;
A player reported two other players about them building in raid and RDM'ed him. When I brought them to me and asked why they did it they kept on saying I didn't listen to them, I repeat; I asked them why they did it, So I tell them to stop minge or I will kick them. They then start disrespecting me so I kick the one disrespecting the most. The other dude sighs and when I ask him to tell what happened he just runs from the F1, so I kick him aswell. When he then joins back on later he starts saying in OOC: "John the 'moderator' is a bad staff member" or something along those lines. It was pissing me off so I just finished the F1 I was handling at that time (another one) and silently left the server after telling the minge that I had the full rights to kick him and his friend.
If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?
Dear <player name>,
First of all, I want to congratulate you on being accepted as moderator.
I will explain the commands and such to you, but first I just want to tell you a bit about the moderator role.
When you are on duty, you can not involve in any sort of RPing, since, you obviously are there to help people with their problems. Sometimes, you will face hard F1s, where you are not sure what to do. I highly recommend that you call for assistance, either from another mod, or an admin, to help you. But after a couple days, you understand how to handle them, and you can manage to finish a F1 in a matter of minutes.
As mod, you get many different commands, and here I will explain all of them.
/slay <player name/Steam ID/Steam Name> <normal/explode/silent/rocket>. This one kills the target player, and with different effects. Use this to punish for example Citizens with heavy guns.
/tp (optional name). If you don’t put in a name, it will tp you to the spot where your crosshair is. If you put in a name it will teleport the target player(s).
/freeze <player name> (how long in seconds). With this command you can freeze players. A good situation to do this is if there is a mass rdm'er at spawn, you can freeze him, and then take him somewhere to talk with him, and warn him. Remember to unfreeze them so they won’t be stuck in all eternity.
/unfreeze <player name>. This command unfreezes the player, so they can move again.
/kick <player name> <reason> Use this if there is a prop spammer trying to crash the server.
/goto <player name>. This teleports you to the targeted player.
/bring <player name> (optional player name) . If only one name is entered this will teleport the targeted player to you. If you enter two names, it will teleport the first name to the second name.
/warn <player name> <reason> Use this to warn players for the rules they are breaking (EG: /warn Bob NLR)
/unwarn <player name> Use this if you warn the wrong person, or warn for wrong reason.
/back <player name> Use this when you are done with someone. (EG: you had to teleport someone to you. When you are done with helping him, you can use this command to teleport him back to where he was). Fact: This doesnt work if you use /bring command. It will only tp him to you if you use /back then, so for the /back command to work you must use /tp command.
All of these commands can be found in the tab menu, if you click on a player. I should also mention, with for example the bring/tp command, is that if there is, lets say, one person named “Bob the builder” and one named “Olbob”, and you write /bring Bob, both of them will be teleported to you, since they both have the word “bob” in their name.
Now I wish you all luck with your time as moderator. If you need any help, just message me either ingame, on TeamSpeak, or on Steam, where my name is [Z] TheBrohman.
Regards, John Everdeen.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for propspam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
Dear <player name>,
I banned you for propspamming which causes serverlag and may crash the server. I see that you have put great effort into the ban appeal and I will reduce your ban to 3 days. Make sure to read the rules when you get back on!
ACCEPTED ban time reduced to 3 days.
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 150 words):
I think I should be promoted since I am working hard. I do F1s as soon as they come up and I am pretty much on Duty at all times. I have been admin before, and know how to handle the responsability with the admin powers.
As admin I can help even more with different F1s and if I become admin I am pretty sure I will stay on duty at all times when I am online. I really enjoy being staff on this lovely server and I want to help out as much as possible. After I got back to DarkRP after a break from Gmod, I just didnt have the same fun from roleplaying, it was something missing. Now when I got the mod rank I found out, I missed the ability to help players.
I am very dedicated to the server, I spend most of my time on the server (well, now the last days it haven't been that much due to my friend ending up in hospital but still).
Thanks for reading!
