How would you deal with someone who is being bullied on TS3?
Firstly I would pull the person into a separate channel (preferably a spacer so no one can interrupt) and ask them to just give me a brief outline of the situation they are in. Once given a brief overview of the victims situation I will ask them if there was any witnesses and if they could provide me with proof if possible. If the victim is uncertain on how to provide proof I would instruct them on how to take screenshots of their TS3 chat log using programs such as gyazo so that they can easily get some photographic evidence for me to use. If any witnesses are found and necessary then I would also ask for their input separately and put together the pieces of their stories and make sure it all adds up before confronting the reported user. Once I have evidence sufficient enough to account for a ban/tempban then I would speak to the reported user separately and question them about the situation that was reported and see their side of the argument. If the reported user has no valid point for the harassment and cannot show any evidence that it was not completely one sided then I would ban him temporarily from the TS server however if the severity of the situation is greater than just a temporary ban then I would consult another TS staff or member of the community team to make sure that a permanent ban is the right choice. If the argument however has a valid point and turns out not to be bullying over TS3 but instead just an argument that got out of hand then I would pull the two users into a channel and act as an overseer in settling their differences and carrying on using the TS server for what it is primarily used for; having a place to communicate with friends and the other players of ZARP.
Explain some of the administrative features of TS3 and when they're used
appropriately.
Cannot remember all the exact features that the TS3 staff have access to since it was 3 months ago since I was a staff member so I will try and guess the features that are accessible to TS3 staff and explain how they are used.
Ban: The ability to ban people is a big responsibility and is a feature that should not be used lightly. Only once you have evaluated a situation properly should you ban with reason. Should be used for example when someone is harassing another user and evidence of it is given.
Kick client from Server: The ability to kick users from the TS should be used as a lighter method of banning. The user is kicked from the TS server with a given reason and can rejoin at any time afterwards. Should be used for example when someone is intentionally trolling by micspamming/playing music when not actually being allowed to do so.
Kick client from Channel: The ability to kick a user from the channel they are currently in. When a user is kicked they are put into the Lobby/AFK channel until they move out of it again. This should be used for example when someone is AFK but has their microphone unmuted and has background noise coming through that is disturbing the other users in the channel. Rather than kicking them from the entire server they could be either moved into the Lobby/AFK channel or kicked from the channel.
Delete avatar: Not entirely sure if this is given to TS3 staff but I would presume it is. This feature allows you to remove someone's avatar if for example it contains content that breaks any of the TOU of the TS for example explicit, vulgar and offensive images that user's will find inappropriate.
Set Server Group: This allows you to add server groups to a user on the TS and should be used when someone has been accepted as staff and need their rank (after checking their application actually got accepted) or when a staff member has resigned or has been demoted.
Set Channel Group: Similarly to the
Set Server Group command this allows you to set the user to either a channel Operator, Voice or Channel Admin. This ability as far as I know has no real use and is very rarely used.
Why I should be chosen (we recommend around 50 words).
Like many of the other applicants I have seen recently I am active on the TS and spend almost all of my time online on the server. My second point would be that I have prior knowledge how a TS staff member should act and how situations should be dealt with and how they shouldn't be dealt with. I know how to use the abilities given and would use them responsibly.
