Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin:
I missed this out the first time so here it is. My time as moderator has allowed me to experience and deal with a range of situations some harder to prove than others. I have been able to speed up how fast I can help new players and even some of the old. I have became alot more familiar with the rules and have gained a lot more experience with the community.
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user):
An obstacle during my time as moderator was a player who was reported for breaking NLR and RDM, he was trying to convince me he had broken no rules even though after 2 - 3 minutes of conversation with the accused and accuser he had basically told me that he did do it. It wasn't too much of an obstacle but he then decided to log out after I told him what I was going to warn him for, I then had to find an admin that wasn't AFK to deal with him.
If you had to write an email to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?
Congratulations, you have been accepted as moderator by the Zarp staff team! You have been handed the power to deal with the rule breakers of the server. Being moderator isn't always going to be easy but I will help explain some commands that will help
Commands can be used by clicking on a players name in the tab menu and then selecting a command or by manually typing them in chat for some commands not both of these are available. Different situations will require either of these, the first command I am going to explain is going to be one of your most used commands.
/Warn <SteamId> <Reason> This command is pretty straight forward, you cannot use this in the tab menu so you will be require to type it each time. You can obtain a players steam id by clicking on there name on the tab menu and then clicking the code under their name which is under their display picture. The reason should be kept short such as "RDM" or "NLR", you can but there is no need to type longer reasons such as "Player randomly started to shoot other players".
/UnWarn <SteamId> This command will remove a single warn from a player, this may be used a in situation where a player has been falsely warned by another staff member or you have decided that the player did not break rules after warning them.
/Kick <Player> This command can be used on players in situations such as Prop spamming if no admins are on to ban them, Afk players, or situations you see fit. This command should not be abused or used for players who break rules such as RDM and NLR.
The next commands will be also used a lot rivaling the /warn command.
/Tp <Player> This will tp the requested player to where you're looking.
/Bring <Player> This will also tp the requested player to you.
/Goto <Player> This will tp you to the requested player.
These commands will become extremely useful while moderating the server. You may even want to bind the tp command like many staff have. You do this by accessing the console and typing /bind [Key] "/say tp", replace [Key] with a keyboard button, I use T for easy access. This will tp you to where ever you look, although you have permission to use this you may not use it during a roleplay situation e.g. using it to get somewhere faster when not dealing with an F1.
The next few commands are accessible but will most likely never be used.
/Ignite <Player> <Time> This will set the requested player on fire for a set amount of time. You can use this in the tab menu by clicking on a players name, clicking on ignite and selecting an amount of time.
/Slay <Player> This will kill the requested player. Although you have access to this you will most likely never have to use it. A reason that you may have to use it could be that you have hosted an event and you need to kill a player in it.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for propspam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
I have reviewed your app and see that you are sorry for your actions, I am going to take into account that you have not previously been banned and have put a lot of effort into your application. I am therefore going to reduce your permanent ban to 2 weeks. I suggest you take another look at the DarkRp server rules before rejoining.
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 150 words):
I would like to be promoted from moderator to admin as I have have doubled my playing time since being mod from around 90 hours to almost 180 hours (When I first posted this). During this time I have helped countless players, new and old with a large variety of questions and problems. Promoting me to admin would help me handle issues faster, it would also allow me to help moderators handling with players who need banning for serious issues instead of waiting for other admins to reply disrupting them from their own roleplay experience.
During the time I have been moderator I have experienced moments when I am the only person doing F1s and sometimes the only staff on the server dealing with 20+ players, I'm sure this has happened to other staff members but this has happened on more than one occasion, lucky the increasing number of Zarp staff members is helping tackle this problem and becoming admin would increase slightly how fast I could deal with each individual problem.
