"RDM" Is where one player kills another without a valid RP reason. An example scenario would be: Bob and Swag are in an argument about who weaves better baskets. Swag then kills bob because he made him mad. Bob however did not give Swag any RP reason to kill him. After the fact Bob makes an F1 and the Moderator asks Swag why he did it. His reason: "because i have swag" which is therefore and RDM because there is no RP reason for Swag to kill Bob. Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario. NLR is when a player dies he has a "new life" in which he does not remember what happened in his previous life. He also cannot go back to the place he dies for a certain amount of time. An example scenario would be: Swag has a base. Bob raids Swag's base and kills him. After Swag is killed he immediately goes back to his base and kills Bob. Bob makes an F1. The Moderator concluded that Swag did break NLR because he went back to his base before the time was up and gives Swag a warning. Explain "Metagaming" and give an example scenario. Metagaming is using out-of-character(OOC) information to gain in charachter benefit. An example scenario would be: Bob says in OOC chat that he has to move his printers to another location and says where he is going. Swag sees this OOC chat of Bob's and immediately goes to the location Bob said, kills him, and takes his printers. Swag used the OOC information to gain benefit to his IC player. Less extreme cases of metagaming are saying things like where you are or to meet somewhere in OOC. Explain how you would handle the following situation: Bob accuses Swag for RDMing him, the console log shows that Sweg killed Bob. I would bring everyone to a non RP enviornment like the skybox or a roof. First i would ask Swag what the reason was for killing Bob. If Swag says that he killed him for a valid RP reason i would ask Bob if he has any proof or any witnesses that mightve seen what went on between the two. If there is no proof either way of what happened i would let Sweg off because of lack of proof but watch him to see if he commits RDM again and go from there. If Bob did have a witness or proof showing that Swed did RDM Bob i would give Swag a warning for RDM. Explain how you would handle the following situation: Bob accuses Swag for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time. I would bring them to a non RP enviornment and get both sides of the story. If Bob says that he did not leave the place he killed Swag as it would be an area under NLR for Swag it would be pretty obvious and i would warn Swag. However if Swag killed him in a different area that the previous area it would not be NLR and he would not be warned. The situation would vary alot and there would be many variables so its hard to explain what i would exactly do but the main idea is to get both sides, look at the logs, and go from there. Explain how you would handle the following situation: Swag calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided Simple. Warn swag for metagaming and monitor the situation and if people come to help i would ask them how they heard and if they said in OOC i would send them back, if they said in a valid way i would let them pass so that RP could continue smoothly. Why I should be chosen (longer answer expected here - at least 150 words I would be a good mod because I am relaxed, i don't get upset over games, i get both sides of the story when handling a situation and handle it smoothly. I want to become a mod to support and make servers a better community. I don't mind taking time out to help new players and teach them how to build or how the server works and just get them acquainted so that they like ZARP and it is a server that they enjoy and like being on and will keep coming back to. If someone is having a hard time figuring out what ways they should go about playing on this server whether to be a gun dealer or just hole up in a base and make buy money printers and whether to base with other people or not and tell them what people on the server are helpful and what people to stay away from that have a tendency to betray people. Basically just give them the ins and outs of this server. I like to make jokes and have fun with people but when there is a situation I don't joke around about it and i get right to it because I don't want people saying that mods don't respond fast and losing them playing on this server because they were having problems that a mod didn't deal with etc. So all in all i just want to help everyone that needs help and make ZARP a pleasant and fun place for everyone. Thank you |

First and foremost, we'd like to thank you for making the effort to apply for a rank on the ZARP Semi Serious DarkRP. Your application has been discussed at an administrative meeting, and from there it has been voted on.
As the number of 'yes' votes exceeded the number of 'no' votes you received, you have been accepted. Towards the bottom there is a button leading you to a download of a 'welcome pack' (moreso intended for new moderators) - this will give you a brief insight into your duty and how to do it, but before we can give you your rank you will have to attend a training session. You can ask any superadmin for your training.. You need to attend a weekly meeting on our Teamspeak server (IP is 94.23.19.200), it would also be appreciated if you can click the banner in my signature and add me on steam so that we can manage the meetings more easily. Congratulations on behalf of the administrative team. |
