Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario.
RDM is known as random death match - this name is pretty self-explanatory.
RDM is where you randomly kill a player for a reason that is not deemed suitable by the rules. An example of RDM would be an innocent civilian spawning and immediatelly killing fellow civilians around him.
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario.
The New Life Rule is known as NLR. If you break NLR, you have broken the New Life Rule. A few things fall under the NLR. If you are killed in a raid and return to the area where you died before 3 minutes (the time set by the server) then you will be breaking NLR.
Explain "Metagaming" and give an example scenario.
Metagaming is where you use chat systems such as OOC for in-character roleplaying. If I was being raided and told police to come to my house to defend me from the invaders using the OOC chat, that would be Metagaming.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x.
First things first: I would introduce myself and my purpose for being present. After this, I would take the person who needed assistance to a secluded area (top of an inaccessible roof or above the map). After this, I would ask player x and player y if they feel that the kill was legitimate and ask them to state their reasons. If the reason is not legitimate then I would warn player y and inform him of his mistake and how to prevent encountering it again in the future.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time.
I would bring the person who required assistance and then bring the person who supposedly broke NLR. I would then ask them to explain what happened. If it is found that player y did not wait for the NLR timer to reach 0 seconds, then they would be warned and informed of the new life rule and how to abide by it. You are also not allowed to act based on the memories of a past life - you have a new life... abide by it.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided.
I would inform player x through OOC to stop metagaming - I will do this by explaining to him that using OOC chat for this sort of thing is against the rules (classed as 'metagaming'. I would show him a rule-abiding alternative such as an advert, and possibly warn him if the plea for assistance if posted repeatedly despite the initial verbal warning.
Why I should be chosen (longer answer expected here - at least 150 words).
One primary issue that admins face on ZARP if the issue regarding the significance of certain rules. Some rules are commonly regarded as more important than others, and many admins view that time should not be spent favouring F1's less significant than others awaiting a response. With many moderators moving into the administrator role, admin time is often spent dealing with a small incident as opposed to any major ones - in order to fix this, I believe that a new moderator would be beneficial. When I started on ZARP the map was rp_townsend_v2. I spent a lot of time with friends on this server, and found the admins to be very respectful - today is no different... that said, I can certainly say that admins are commonly under a lot more pressure than they were back then. Because of these issues, I view that the decision to make me a moderator would be the right one. If I was a moderator, I would help those in need. If someone needed assistance I would happily give it if it meant ensuring that less rules would be broken in the future (and less hassle coming as a result!). Many who know me would view me as trustworthy and caring. I would not abuse someone for comitting the smallest of offenses but rather instruct them in how to prevent themselves from comitting it again - that said, I certainly will not take serious matters lightly. I know how dedicated people are to roleplaying on ZARP, and will do the best that I can in order to ensure that this experience is not shattered. I am now an active member of the TeamSpeak3 Server, and I am happy to assist those who need me there also. I try my hardest to assist those in need in-game, and I enjoy the variety of options that ZARP has to offer.
Thank you for reading my application.
