DarkRP Questions

Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario.

For me, I Feel Random Death Match is when someone purposely attacks / kills you without any fair reason, for example, an un-reasonable RDM would be when someone kills you for looking at them, or just to gain a "kill". However, a reasonable death match scenario is when, for example - someone raiding your home as a thief. Upon entering without permission (e.g locked door that has been lock-picked.) you are then entitled to engage the now hostile person.

Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario.

The NLR (New Life Rule) is when you die, you cannot return to the same location, or area of death, no matter how death was caused. An example of this, is when your shop/home gets raided by thieves, you, entitled to do so, pulled a weapon and started to try to save your stock / property you unfortunately get shot and killed. For the duration that appears you are not allowed to return to that area, or even after the timer has counted down to seek revenge at the person whom raided, as you died, the NLR thus creates a "realistic" rule that disables your ability by set rules to seek revenge.

Explain "Metagaming" and give an example scenario.

Metagaming has many different meanings, but i believe that in the case of the DarkRP server i am applying moderator status to, means the following: Metagaming is when your charicter uses certain knowledge that their character otherwise might not know. For example, you see a group surrounding a house, a friend of the person in this house is outside seeing whats going on, and updating the status and location of the raiding players in the chat, the friend receiving the tactics via OOC is locked in a room with a window with sight of outside and the door, the friend outside says "hes outside the window" the friend inside, moves to the window and makes a kill. To conclude, metagaming is an unfair advantage with knowlage otherwise wouldn't be known as a solo player out of range of another friendly player. In Short, Abusing the OOC or ICC to gain knowlage otherwise not easily obtained without a plus 1.

Why I should be chosen?

The reason i feel i should be accepted as a moderator is i feel that i have a lot i could give to the community, I am a friendly, open person that is down-to-earth and understanding. I understand sensitivity in certain topics and issues and what is right and what is wrong. I previously have managed, and administrated many servers, including Minecraft, DayZ. Garry's Mod, Terraria and many more. With being a security officer (IRL) i understand customer services and expectations that general day-to-day customers and clients wish to receive.

I enjoy spending time on the Zarp - DarkRP server, It feels like one great community where everyone knows each other, i could just be innocently walking down a road and someone would should via mic "hey penguin, how are you today" and that alone is what i enjoy about it. The admins, moderators, and staff are extremely friendly, down-to-earth, stern, but fair. and enjoy having a conversation with them, this is what made me feel it is necessary to donate to the server which I love.

With that in hand, knowledge, and experience, i feel that my personality and skills match what is required of me to successfully communicate with players and admins to create and moderate a friendly and open environment, and it would be a honor to do so.

I think you are a very good player and you definitely play by the rules as you know them well.
You are calm and intelligent and I think you should be given a chance.
One thing I dislike about the application is the colours used... to me it's just not professional and its annoying to read the writing with such bright green writing. I would edit this.
Other then that I hope you get moderator because I know you will do the job well.
