OnionRings' General Discussion & Appeals Section Moderator Application
Forum Name:
OnionRings
What server(s) are you active on?:
I am currently active on 3 Zarp Gaming Servers.
SSRP/Surf & Bhop
I am currently SSRP Head Admin, These ranks require me to be very active and play on the servers and enjoy them. These sections will help me with appeals for the server to where I will be able to lock and deal with them myself and in general moderate the entire section.
Discord
I'm Very active on Discord server, I am online nearly every day talking with many other staff members and having a fun time. I'm also a Discord admin.
Forums
I'm active on the forums as well. I come on the forums Every day to help players out either for a problem or just a question about the Community. I try my best to be active in the general discussion and appeals section, but a lot of the time I don't post there but I'm always reading what people say in that section and if needed I will reply to it.
I am From:
Ireland
Time spent with ZARP Gaming?:
8 years
How often do you come on the forums:
Everyday.
Why You?:
I believe that I should be chosen for these sections, especially appeals due to me being an SSRP Head Admin it's really annoying that I cannot move/lock appeals once they've been handled by the staff on the server. I've been back 3 months now trying to regain my positions I once held, showing my dedication to the community once again. Over the past few weeks, I've seen posts in general discussion and appeals taking such a long amount of time to get handled, or I have to message the forum staff myself to move, edit, lock or delete certain posts that shouldn't be on the forums.
Activity
I do try my best to come online on the servers and regularly check the forums when I have free time. In the community itself, I tend to be active across the board by actively being on discord so if things need to be done on the forums I can be messaged and as well as being on the forums for a good few hours a day.
Experience/Trust
I have gained so much experience in the past few years. I have been forum staff countless of times over the years while staffing the in-game servers with being in general discussion and appeals before to being global moderator for a few years. I left and came back once again gained back global moderator that eventually led me to be promoted to forum admin around 2 years ago now, the last every forum admin without being a cm team member!
What a Section Moderator Can do:
A section moderator has a few commands of what they can do on the forums. I'm going to list a few down below that I know you get as a section mod.
Moving Threads:
Yes , as a section moderator you're able to move users threads if they accidentally post something in the wrong section such as a ban appeal in the general discussion section or ssrp section you will have the ability to move it to the correct section,
Locking Threads:
As a Section Moderator you have the permission to lock threads, this should be used if a user is done with his thread, he wants it locked or if the post is not constructive and clearly trolling.
Example: Player A applies for staff but decided later on that he no longer wants to apply, once he states in the main post that he revokes his application it can then be locked.
Sticky Threads/Topics:
For the General Discussion/Appeals section this may be rarely needed, it can be used to make a topic show above all other topics in a section. This is currently used for the application templates and guides. However, if in the future there is an important topic it is best to consult a global moderator+ before sticking the topic.
Editing Posts:
As a section moderator you have the permission to edit other users' threads/topics in the section that you hold the moderator rank. You would use the
button and then you can edit their appeal by fixing steamids, template issues etc.
