Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin:
As a moderator, I believe that the time I have spent will contribute to my becoming an admin. I've learned many new things and my activity on surf and the support coming from staff such as nyx has helped me improve on surf itself.
With my experience as Moderator, I've also learnt how to use the commands which the Moderators have permission to use. I've also learnt to understand the surf server rules whilst playing on surf.
I'm usually online whilst many staff are not, during the servers low times so If anything ever occurs during that time I'm able to deal with it, and getting Admin will help me punish players who break the rules more accordingly
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user):
During the times I'm the most active, I rarely see users rulebreaking. The server is peaceful at most times with all people doing is surfing casually.
However, times that I've had to punish users for breaking rules were times when new users join and suddenly blurt out the n-word. Depending on whether they say it in voice chat or the text chat I either mute them in the chat or mute them in the voice.
Aside from those cases, I've never witnessed users breaking rules on purpose just to be a menace or to be annoying. If there ever is a moment in which I join the server and there is chaos occurring with users just breaking rules I will be able to punish them accordingly, If I were to have the admin rank and that was to occur then I know that I can give them a more thorough and correct punishment which they would deserve depending on the severity of their actions.
If you had to write a letter to train a moderator in between 100-200 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?:
When a new moderator joins the surf staff team I will firstly congratulate them and make sure to be welcoming. After that, I will speak to the Moderator and let him know the goals to have as a staff member. Then, I will make sure to talk about the staff ethos making sure they understand it and answer any questions they have.
After we're done with that segment, I will explain the commands that the moderator will have access to and how to locate the commands they're given.
Commands with their explanations:
Mute Voice - Gives you the ability to mute the chosen user for a reasonable amount of time.
The voice mute lasts from 10 seconds all the way to 10 minutes.
Mute Chat - Gives you the ability the mute chosen user for a reasonable amount of time.
The chat mutes last from 10 seconds all the way to 10 minutes.
Strip Weapons - Gives you the ability to remove all of the weapons a user is holding.
The weapons can be reobtained with the same command that they were first given, used on people who annoy with weapons.
Spectate - The spectate command gives you the ability to spectate a user without going back to spawn.
Send Message - You are able to privately communicate with a user.
Kick - Gives you the ability to kick a user from the server.
If a user is breaking rules and there are no higher up staff members around, a kick can be given if all punishment obtains fail.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that Staff Member x banned them permanently for Exploiting, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
When handling this ban appeal, I would respond to this appeal by reading the ban appeal seeing any information needed, then I would speak with the staff member who had banned the user.
I would also consider the amount of time the user had waited before appealing their ban, if the user appealed the next day after getting banned then it would be denied however if it were a few months or even a year depending on the detail and effort put into the ban appeal.
I would consider unbanning the user after speaking to the staff member who had banned him unless the staff member who had banned him had already departed from the staff team, I would make sure to speak with the correct staff members to be able to see what I can and cannot do.
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 100 words):
I should be promoted to Administrator, this is due to my increased activity and the ability to play surf every day due to my upcoming Summer Holidays which start on Friday 16th of July.
Being active on the server will not be an issue for me. However, I will still spend my summer holiday outside not just playing at home on my computer. This won't be an issue as I can easily get at least an hour of activity every day so I will still be active and I will still be online to help people on SURF whether it's on the discord or on the server.
I also believe myself to be a very nice and friendly person. I can be easy to reach out to as well. I can use skills that I have been taught on surf to help struggling users who are unable to beat maps that I am able to beat.
If I were to be promoted, I'll be very active, help other users in need and punish users accordingly with more reasonable punishments.
