Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin:
The time as a
Moderator helped me to get used to the
Moderator-Commands and to internalize the
Server-Rules fully.
It also helped me to help other users, since many users prefer the help of
Staff-Members over normal users.
I've built myself a reputation of a friendly guy, that likes to help others and with whom you can have a great and fun time!
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user):
Since I am often online at times, where only a few other people play, I often encounter situations where users keep on breaking rules over and over where I then face the problem of not being able to punish them in a way that really stops them.
Often I can get a
higher staff member to come online and punish those players, but after they punished them, higher staff members often leave again and after a while, I will again face such players and have to find a higher staff member again.
This situation often repeats over and over again leaving me and higher staff member probably also frustrated.
If you had to write a letter to train a moderator in between 100-200 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?:
Welcome in the Surf Staff Team [
Name ],
The highest priority for our team is to ensure, that every user has a great time on our server.
Our duty is it to make sure that every user feels comfortable on the server.
It is important to us, that all users respect each other and you are here to ensure this.
There will be times, where users get heated / tilted and sometimes vent their anger in the chat.
We're here to calm them down and de-escalate such situations.
Besides calming users down with word / text, you also have
Moderator-Commands that can and
should only be used in "extreme" situations where you can't stop the rulebreaking behavior of a user.
Remember:
Words > Punishment
To use your
Moderator-Commands you open the
TAB-Menu and click on the user you want to act on.
You will now notice that you have more options then u had before.

Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that Staff Member x banned them permanently for Exploiting, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
I think it depends on multiple factors, in my opinion, one of the biggest factors is
time.
So I would look how long it's been since the user got banned for the exploit.
I can't set myself on a specific timespan here, but I see a massive difference between a situation that happened a few days ago and a situation, that happened two years ago.
People don't change over night, but they DO change!
So when I see the ban happened a while back, I will set my mind open for the possibility, that the user changed his behavior.
I then will talk with the user and let him explain to me what happened and also why he did it.
I will also talk to the staff member, who banned him (if this staff member is still in the team) and let him explain the situation to me.
If I'm convinced that the user changed over the time of his ban, I would support the user in his unban appeal.
Everyone makes mistakes and breaking the rules must be punished!
But everyone deserves a second chance after they proofed that they've changed!
Dear [User],
after speaking with you and the staff member who applied the ban, we came to the conclusion that you've changed and that you regret your past behavior.
We will hereby accept your apology and grant you a second chance!
For any further questions, feel free to contact me via Discord or TeamSpeak.
We wish you a great time on the surf server! - Nyx
Why I should be promoted:
I think my biggest plus is my activity.
I am active daily and that often for many hours, day and night, so I am online, when no other staff members are.
Besides my activity, I am a friendly guy and am well known by most of the players.
I am always trying to help other users improve their surf skills by watching them surf and giving advices.
As a
Administrator I would be more independent in handling situations with difficutl users.
Extra:
Only
Staff-Member able to complete
Tier-7 maps!
So giv
