1. Personality
I am naturally introverted but I am capable of interacting with others. I prefer to observe and listen rather then to respond and react.
I am a believer of "ubuntu" meaning I consider people to be equal regardless of demographic. It also means to treat others with kindness and respect regarldess of how they treat you.
2. Activity
I am interactive on various platforms. I balance work, day-to-day as well as extra-cirricular activites; so the time I allocate for gaming I choose to spend it wisely and prefer talking to people who are interested in having more meaningful converations. I read the forums everyday and when there is a serious issue I will take the time to analyse and discuss it in-depth.
I have high activity on the Prop Hunt server from joining the server with few players and staying on and playing until more players and other staff are able to join.
3. Previous Experience
I am currently also a Super Admin on Surf. I am also in a management position in my job.
4. Situations faced as SA
I havent really faced a situation as a SA that I couldnt handle. There was one smaller event where two players kept ghosting after being warned before and so I kicked them but had accidentaly entered the wrong reason from my clipboard as I also was paying attention to another situation as well. I then reported my mistake, asked a HA+ to remove those punishments so that I could do offline warns with the correct reason in it.
5. Plans as HA
I would like to add a disclaimer here and say some of these plans are already in motion and do not need the role of an HA to get them started. However, the position would give me the ability to take on more responsibility for these plans:
5.1 Server Revival
This is something I am already a part of but plan on continuing regardless. Unlike Surf for example where you can play on your own, Prop Hunt needs other players in order to play. To facilitate this, it means joining the server if there are few (or one) player(s) online and try to keep things going until more people join. The more players are seen online, the more likely it is for others to join.
Some days have not been with much success, but just like normal day-to-day activities (going to the gym, following a new meal plan, etc.) consistency is key. Its not about being successfull all the time, its about keeping it up until the conditions become self-sustainable (the norm).
5.2 Competitions
As HA I would like to get the opportunity to be more involved in plans for competitions on Prop Hunt and even assist in facilitating some competitions myself. Competitions can give players something to grind towards and spice up the everyday repetitive gameplay. If a weekly/monthly leaderboards system is created, it will also open up some more regular leaderboards competitions to take place on Prop Hunt.
5.3 Suggestion Management and Tracking
In the current ZARP processes, people are able to make suggestions on the suggestion threads and staff members are also able to bring up suggestions duing the weekly meetings. However, there isn't really consistency in the current systems that tell people whether their suggestions have been accepted or not; and how far and where they are in the process of implementation. Currently as a player you hopefully look at the meeting outcomes, suggestion threads or changelogs to see whether the suggestions you have made are featured there. I would like to get the opportunity to improve the manner suggestions are tracked. This would mean regular inspection and combining the suggestions received on these various platforms and presenting suggestions on one platform (being the meeting outomes) as follows:
- Old suggestions that were accepted and their respective progress
- New suggestions made and were accepted
- Suggestions denied (with reason)
In this way people are able to get feedback on their suggestions and the progress accordingly.
5.4 Repetitiveness of the game
Some people I have spoken to have mentioned how the gamemode is quite repetitive, therefore people lose interest over time. As HA I would like to be more closely involved in brainstorming possible solutions to spice up the game as well as listening to and communicating such fundamental issues to higher members, which if addressed could bring a significant improvement to the game.
Possible solutions (example):
Introduce random-event rounds into the existing gamemode where in that round:
Moon gravity event - hunters find themselves trying to shoot evasive props in an environment where a single jump can send a hunter or prop soaring in mid-air (basically a prop hunt round in mid air)
Jupiter gravity event - prop hunt in an environment where a jump from a relatively small height can result in fall damage for either hunter or prop
Hunter advantage event - in one round the damage a hunter takes is reduced so they can search and shoot more props
Prop advantage event - in one round the damage a prop takes when being shot is reduced so they can be extra annoying, evasive and stand a better chance of cheating death
etc.
5.5 Recruitement of new staff
It has already come to a point where sometimes players join at such a rate that there are too few staff members to handle the issues currently happening. Since we are currently a small staff team we are urgently in need of more prophunt staff. Currently I am actively paying attention to the regular player-base and looking out for prospective staff members and encouraging players to apply, should they be interested.
This plan also involes not only recruitment and training of new staff but also interaction with them, team building; so that staff members trust one another and also making sure staff develop a sense of comfort in terms of understanding commands, situations and what to do.
