Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin:

My time as moderator has helped me become familiar with the commands. I have learnt how to better communicate and demonstrate the basic controls and skills required to surf through helping new players. I now understand the general range of issues a player might experience on surf and how to help them. I have learnt to be more observant to subtle issues of toxicity, inappropriate remarks, harassment/bullying to address it as soon as possible to show that such behavior is not condoned and that players should be mindful and respectful of one another.

Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user):

A player was being harassed when staff was not online. Since the video evidence provided by the player showed clear evidence of this and since I do not have the ability to offline warn as a moderator, I approached the staff team and sent the evidence to an admin willing to assist and issue the necessary punishments. Throughout, ensuring that the matter is dealt with tactfully.

If you had to write a letter to train a moderator in between 100-200 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?:

Congratulations and welcome to the team! Please take note of the following commands and how to use them:

By holding TAB you will be provided with a list of active players. If you click on a player’s name a pop-up with the following options will be provided:

Chat Mute: Mutes a player for a given period from using text chat
Voice Mute: Mutes a player for a given period from using voice chat
Strip Weapons: removes the weapons from a player who is deliberately going out of their way to annoy/harass other players
Spectate: use to spectate a player without them knowing. You can use this mode of spectate to help a player while not losing your own progress. This can also come in handy when trying to verify whether a player is exploiting.
Send Message: Send a private message to the player. Can be used for help or to address more confidential issues (there are several message icons to use as well along with message to describe the nature of the message, if required)
Kick: Kick a player from the server. Used in severe cases only with players with too many recent punishments yet still continue to break the rules

**In certain situations when there are a lot more players online you may currently not be able to access all players on the tab menu (because the scrollbar doesn’t work). Since Mix3rz is currently working to fix the TAB menu, in the meantime, the following alternatives may be used from the console:

• FAdmin spectate <player>
• FAdmin message <player> [type] message (type can be 1,2,3 or 4 depending on choice of message icon)
• FAdmin kick <player> reason

Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that Staff Member x banned them permanently for Exploiting, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?

I would consult Staff Member X with the ban appeal in order to understand the circumstances from both perspectives. Once I have a proper understanding of the nature of the circumstances I would then respond as follows:

Good day. I have discussed your ban appeal with Staff Member X. Since this is your first ban and given the sincerity and the great effort you have put into your appeal, your ban has been reduced to two days. Please take note: exploiting is prohibited and taken very seriously on Surf. If you are found to be exploiting in future, the consequences will unfortunately be very severe.

Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 100 words):

I enjoy surf and interacting with the players. I am very active on the server. I would like to have the opportunity to take on more responsibility and to help out on a broader range of issues.
