How do you feel that your time as an administrator has contributed to becoming a super administrator:
I have shown continuous dedication to the server, (I'll go into more depth in the next section) I'm well aware of all the admin commands and know how to handle users correctly. I can handle the server well on my own and know how to handle situations correctly.
What makes you a good candidate for the super administrator team? ( in this part you can go as detailed as you want):
Dedication towards the server
Since becoming staff on deathrun I have maintained high activity throughout, maintaining possibly the highest activity out of the current staff. I go above and beyond what is expected of a normal admin, wherever this be helping Red test out potential new maps for the server and giving my opinion on them. Pointing out issues with maps such as broken endzones and bringing them up to Haytham (goodbye
) and Jerry. I have also made several suggestions to help improve the server, Majority of them I've just spoken to the owners about then, but I also made a suggestion on the dedicated deathrun suggestion page. Additionally, I went out of my way to train a new mod in order to get the experience of how to train new staff members.
Teamspeak and Forums activity
As for teamspeak I am active almost every day on here and for several hours, I interact not only with fellow staff members on deathrun but with users and sometimes the community team (Who just invite themself into the private channel smh) Whilst on the forums I am really active and check regularly to see if there are any posts that interest me, I am starting to improve my feedback on the forums, rather than just the regular shit posts I used to do I now try and give my thoughts and feedback where I find it appropriate.
Explain a situation as an administrator you encountered that was an obstacle that required the help of a lead team member but you had to work around it when no lead team member was available:
Throughout my time as admin on deathrun there hasn't been a situation where a lead team member has needed, however, if there was a situation where a lead team member was needed and none were available, hopefully, I could rely on the community team to help out.
Explain how you would review and handle an abuse report against another staff member:
I would start by leaving a comment saying ‘handling’ to let fellow staff know that I am dealing with the report, I would then read through the report and see if the user has submitted any evidence of the report. I would talk with both the user and the staff member to try and get the best understanding of the situation to deal with it correctly.
In the case of the user submitting sufficient evidence of the staff abusing I would leave this comment
After Reviewing your evidence and hearing about the story from your side and the staff members’ side I have decided to accept this report of abuse, and have spoken with the staff member to ensure that something like this does not occur again. Thank you
In the case of the user not submitting sufficient evidence/no evidence I would leave this response
After looking through your punishment request I have decided to deny it due to a lack of evidence, I will still speak with the staff member just to make sure that they are aware of this. For future reference try to get evidence of abuse.
Thank you for making this appeal,
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member bans a user for an excessive amount of time, how do you approach the staff member to ensure that everyone is treated fairly?
I would start by checking the banned players’ F6 and I would look at his punishments and see if they deserved this ban. If not I would confront the staff member and let them know that although we have guidelines for ban lengths, that they are just a suggestion, I would tell the staff member to take into account that if the user has shown that they are trying to change and the reports were just accidents, to not ban them for as long, and to take into account how long ago their previous bans were. Hopefully, this would help the staff member in the future when deciding on ban lengths
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member is dealing with a user but is struggling to do so in an appropriate manner. How would you resolve the situation?
I start by dealing with the user and help them with regards to what they need, after this I would then speak with the staff member and let them know how to deal with the situation accordingly.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member accuses another staff member of breaking rules, how would you help resolve the situation?
I would first ask the staff member what rules the other staff member is breaking, and see if they have any evidence of the said staff member breaking the rules. If it is confirmed that they are breaking a rule, I would issue a verbal warning to the staff member and let them know that what they did is not allowed and if they continue they could risk a demotion. If there is no evidence I would still have a word with the said staff member and let them know that of the potential rule break and make sure that they know that it is wrong.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member acts disrespectfully towards another staff member and or sparks an argument within the staff team. How do you resolve the situation?
Firstly I would make sure that the two staff members stop their bickering, after this, I would pull them aside 1 by 1 and get their side of the story and see what happened, I would then bring them together and make them both apologise, and then deal with the situation accordingly and make sure that they put this aside as its not a good look for staff, and is easily resolved.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
You spot a staff member breaking rules to the point of harming other users, how do you approach the staff member?
First I would make sure that the staff member stops doing what it is that he is doing, then I would pull him aside and have a chat via discord/ts and make sure that they know what they are doing is wrong and make sure that they do not again. I would make a note of it to fellow staff and keep an eye on them to make sure that they do not continue, if they were to continue then I would bring it up in the LT meeting. Depending on the severity I would emergency demote them if it was repetitive after warning.
