How would you handle a TS3/Discord appeal?:
i would handle an appeal by first contacting the staff member who banned the user so i could get an unbiased view of what happened then i would reply to the appeal saying something along the lines of
hello player x! first of all thank you for taking the time to make the appeal and after discussing the punishment with the staff member who banned you i have decided while you did directly break our TOU by mass poking people in a meeting the staff member banned you for an excessive amount of time as it also directly says in our TOU that disrupting meetings is a day ban, your ban has been reduced and while you wait out the rest of your ban i reccomend going through our terms of service in the spoiler below, this appeal has been
1 - No micspamming.
2 - No playing music unless permitted by those in your channel.
3 - Do not harass users.
4 - Recording: You cannot record users of this TeamSpeak server under any circumstance without their permission.
5 - Do not disturb anyone in a meeting room. You face a 1 day ban for causing disruption.
6 - Don't attempt to join private channels without permission, or meeting rooms.
7 - If you would like a private channel, let a Community Manager or above know and they will decide. Do not abuse any of the commands if you are Channel Admin or you may have your channel deleted.
8 - No racism, discrimination, etc.
9 - Don't follow people around channels, even if it's a public channel. If they move, you don't follow them unless they want you to.
10 - Don't impersonate staff. This includes having the same name as a staff member or pretending that you are a staff when you are not.
11 - No Voice Changers / Soundboards / Excluding the Alienware SoundBlaster Pro Voice Changers
Explain some of the administrative features of TS3/Discord and when they're used
appropriately:
the main administrative features of ts include:
kick client from channel:
it kicks the user from the channel they are in, its not a major punishment and is more of a warning to be used for minor rulebreaks
kick client from server:
kicks the user out of the ts server, should not be used to annoy clients and should be used for rule breaks
ban client:
the command bans the user from the server and should be saved for major or continuous rule breaks
move client to own channel:
moves user to the channel you are currently in, is easier than dragging but isnt used for when users rule break
set server group: this is a command used for either taking away ranks from staff members who have resigned or giving ranks when people are trained
the main administrative features of discord include bans, mutes and kicks, similar to ts commands they should be used for rule breakers and not to be abused
What would I do different with my new powers? (we recommend around 50 words):
trainings
if i get ts/discord head admin id be able to train new admins, i know its hard to do trainings without a mic so i recently bought a new headset and im trying to get it working as soon as possible, i believe trainings are the key part of being a staff since it teaches you everything you need to know and bad trainings result in situations being handled poorly and wrongful punishments
handling ban appeals/report abuses
as a headadmin id be able to handle report abuses and ban appeals and i would do so by contacting both the staff member and the user to get both sides of what happened then from there decide if the ban appeal should be reduced/what action to take against the staff member, if its a report abuse but not bad enough for an emergency demotion id bring it up in the next meeting
creating new channels
i would create a new TS channel if a new gang channel was accepted and i would grant ownership to the owner of the gang or if someone pays for a private channel i would add it, i would only make new channels for gangs or people who paid for a private channel and wont use the command to mess around,on the discord side of things while while it is unlikely i make a new channel i think the channel descriptions really need to be changed and i could do that, an example would be the off topic channel has the same description as general meaning it gets treated as a second general and since there are only a few dozen active users a second channel isn't needed and thus isn't used, the current description says "Talk about anything here, as long as it follows the rules" and a small change making it say "talk about anything UNRELATED TO ZARP here, as long as it follows the rules" would make a lot more sense and would mean the channel has a clear purpose and will be used more often
giving/removing ranks
if i get HA while il only be doing 1-2 trainings a month and thus wont have to GIVE much ranks on TS i could still remove ranks from those who've resigned and as for discord with the current bot being broken a lot of the ranks being given out are from onion and martin, since i check discord frequently i could remove ranks from people who have resigned since they would still be able to access staff channels as a user, as for giving out ranks on the discord if people don't have their staff ranks they could miss being @ed for certain situations, for example when requesting staff if people don't have their staff ranks they wont be @ed or if an admin is needed to ban someone and someone who IS an admin but hasn't had their rank updated since getting mod they wont be @ed.
why i should be chosen (extra):
Trust
i hold several ranks in the community including TTT admin, minecraft admin, SSRP mod and general discussion mod, ive held TTT admin for just under a year and not once have i been officialed and quite recently i was given minecraft admin which shows that im trusted by the CM team not to abuse my powers (while a HA ofc has more power than an admin theres still a basic level of trust shown) and havent done so on any servers intentionally to date
activity
even though my pc has a problem with the sound meaning i cant talk with users i still join ts when im on my pc incase someone needs help (i changed my name to jamNoSound-poke for help to make sure people know im available and not ignoring them) and regularly tab out to see if ive been poked. On discord i
spam shit posts talk to users constantly and if someone needs help with something im usually the first to respond, i actively encourage people to apply for certain staff ranks if i believe they are capable so if i had to train someone we would not be complete strangers, recently there was a situation where a troll started spamming the n word which was deleted by the bot, if no staff were online and people didnt get a cm to check audit logs then he would've not been punished but since i regularly check discord i saw what he said and banned him for it
