I have a clear and consistent activity on the server playing on average around 3-6 hours each day in order to achieve the best experience for users and handling as many reports as possible so that the system doesn’t get backlogged making sure that each user that visits the server for the first time receives verbals if they are not causing too much trouble for others.
I have served as staff on multiple servers before, including hosting and creating my own community on both Trouble in Terrorist Town and Murder, which have gotten me a lot of experience in how to run a server, manage a staff team, how to read very basic code, the system of the ULX menu.
I have been staff on Zarp since the middle of August of 2020, I was an Administrator from September, but I resigned in later October, but revoked it after I realized the stuff I wanted to do outside Zarp were not going to function as I wanted. And since I only had exams left I had lots of time on my hands, I therefore decided to revoke my resignation.
I have ever since then worked with the rest of the staff team in order to try to increase the total amount of staff as a lot of staff members have resigned for various reasons. With few punishment requests and appeals coming through on the forums, I have still managed to get my hands on a few.
Communication
I believe that within my time as Administrator, I have gotten to know the Ethos well and not only staffed and treated other users as they should. I believe it has shown me I can make the decisions that are required of me as a Super Administrator.
I am also highly active on Teamspeak and Discord, so I will be able to utilize the roles appropriately helping others when needed. I am usually on the Zarp Teamspeak server when I am on Garry’s Mod answering questions and interacting with fellow staff members having Teamspeak parties.
I have a normal presence on the forums to date, but I want to improve further on this and give even more feedback on the forums to potential future staff members as well as commenting on general discussions.
Trouble in Terrorist Town is my all time favourite gamemode in Garry’s Mod, I am also a Administrator at Deathrun, where me and several others are attempting to revive it with suggestions and any bugs we can find since the Lead Team on that server is currently not prioritizing it. I will be a Super Administrator on the Minecraft Server, but I have not been trained yet as of this moment.
Explain a situation as an administrator you encountered that was an obstacle that required the help of a lead team member but you had to work around it when no lead team member was available:
I have recorded several suspected cheaters in my time as administrator and I will continue to do so. Sending an anti-cheat screenshot sometimes isn’t enough evidence as it sometimes comes up with nothing, leading to the main tool for Administrators and Moderators to record such actions as cheating.
This also counts for fellow staff members breaking staff ethos, but I have not done any video evidence on this, as most staff members have been acting within the Staff Ethos.
Explain how you would review and handle an abuse report against another staff member:
I would first read or talk to whoever is alleging abuse. I would follow by contacting the staff member accused, asking if what the user alleged is true. If I get conflicting versions, I would try to make them communicate with each other if there is something the one remembers, but the other doesn’t; which would likely fill in an important piece of evidence.
If the user has video evidence, other evidence or the staff member confesses, I would then bring the staff members actions up in the Lead Team meeting if the actions that were taken demands so, and we would discuss what sanctions to bring against the staff member.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member bans a user for an excessive amount of time, how do you approach the staff member to ensure that everyone is treated fairly?
I would first ask the staff member when they banned the user, if they referred to what is suggested in the staff handbook, and if they did, but still banned them for an excessive amount of time; I would ask if the staff member believes it is fair to the user to be banned from the server this long. If it is clearly not, I would ask the staff member to reban with a lower amount of time.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member is dealing with a user but is struggling to do so in an appropriate manner. How would you resolve the situation?
I would ask the staff member to deal with the user in a more appropriate manner, and if the staff member doesn’t completely know what to do, I could of course invite myself to join in on the conversation or ask the staff member to add me to the report chat. And of course asking the staff member to join Discord or Teamspeak in order to guide them through it is also a likely thing I might do.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member accuses another staff member of breaking rules, how would you help resolve the situation?
I would ask the person accusing the staff member whether this is a serious report, as if they were the only two on the server, it doesn’t affect other users, which is what we as staff are meant to be doing: showcasing fair play to each other.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member acts in a disrespectful manner towards another staff member and or sparks an argument within the staff team. How do you resolve the situation?
I will obviously ask the staff members to calm down, as disrespecting each other never resolves a situation, if they continue to disrespect each other outside of official channels, I would have to take it up with the rest of the Lead Team.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
You spot a staff member breaking rules to the point of harming other users, how do you approach the staff member?
I would ask the staff member to stop what they are doing and refer them to the staff handbook, as well as if they have any questions about using commands or breaking rules to either myself, another lead team or the person who trained them.
