Explain how you feel that your time as a Moderator will contribute to you becoming an Admin:
I personally feel I have had a lot of time as a moderator, and I know it is the right time to move forward. I have been moderator for a good few months now and, like all, most likely had a bumpy start but, as time went by, I picked up a lot from fellow moderators all the way up to head admins. Everyone taught me a little and everything added up to a point I know I’m ready now for the next phase of being an administrator.
Explain a situation in which it would be appropriate to use the ban command:
The ban command would be my last resort to use in a scenario where I have already gone through the correct initial processes of dealing with a person who is breaking the rules consistently. It's used when I've already exhausted every possible approach (psay, warning and have kicked with no success). Then, as an administrator, I will proceed to ban the person, for 2 days minimum.
If you had to write a letter to train a moderator in between 100-200 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?:
Congratulations on your new role as Moderator! Here is a list of useful commands that will help you on your new journey.
time-based commands:
tmute – mutes a player for a certain time period from using the chat. Useful when a player is spamming the chat or is disrespectful to other players and staff or even on staff chat.
tgag – removes the ability from someone using their microphone. This is used to punish players who are mic spamming.
webtauntmute – disables a person’s use of web taunts (use when a player is deliberately playing racist or offensive taunts).
Monitoring commands:
friends – check to see who is friends with who on the server.
checkspeck –check to see who someone is currently spectating (this is useful to see whether a person who is dead in the prop team or in “spectators” is ghosting with their hunter friend)
Permanent commands:
amute – stops a player from misusing the admin chat.
unamute – to remove punishment and enable the person to use admin chat
unwebtauntmute - restore a players ability to use web taunts.
psay – to send a private message(PM) directly to a player (to use when informing them of a certain situation).
gag - to permanently disable the ability of a player using their microphone (preference to use timed punishments)
ungag – will allow person to use microphone again.
slay – Kills a player. Useful when a player is exploiting/door-blocking and continues to do so even after being asked to stop
goto – teleport yourself to a player (i.e. verify if a player is stuck)
bring – bring a player to you (if a player is stuck)
teleport – teleport a player to the direction of where you are physically looking.
fspec – force a player into spectator mode. This for example is if after a map change, players who spawned late are stuck waiting for x amount of time for a single hunter who has successfully spawned but is afk(away from keyboard).
forceteam - to force a player into a specific team (e.g force a player into the same team as their friend to prevent them from ghosting after being warned)
warn – this command will be used to give a player an official warning
kick – used to kick player(s) who consistently break the rules even after going through initial processes.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that Staff Member x banned them permanently for Exploiting, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
Hello and good afternoon Player X, I have spoken to the member of staff who banned you for exploiting we have had a discussion about your situation and how it came about but we have come down to the conclusion that we will unban you. Please ensure you read through all the rules again. As we have now decided to give you another chance to prove you can continue good behaviour, the next time you are found to be breaking the rules again may result into you being banned again.
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 100 words):
I've been a Moderator for 3 months now and, at this very moment in time, I feel fully capable of handling situations that my Moderator rank requires. I wish to proceed further, in order to expand my capability of handling a bigger spectrum of scenarios that require extra attention. Lastly, with this application, I want to be able to help other staff members at making the server peaceful and fun.
