Explain a situation where it would be appropriate to use the ban command:
An appropriate situation to use the ban command is if the user has too many recents within a short period of time, two weeks or shorter, such as Ghosting after being told to stop or more serious offences, usually 6 or more offences, but this of course is dependent on the situation.
Another appropriate situation to use the ban command is when someone Mass RDM’s, but left the server before the accused responded to the report, which is named correctly as Mass Random Death Match (RDM) and Leaving to Avoid Punishment (LTAP) aka Mass RDM+LTAP, which would be 1 to 3 days depending on their rapsheet.
But if the player never has left, but keeps Mass RDM’ing, the ban command can be used to ban the player for continuous Mass RDM’ing.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player X appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that Staff Member X banned them permanently for “exploiting”, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?:
I would first post on discord and the forums that I am handling the report, I would then be sure that the information they have given is accurate if what they are telling is true according to the ban list, I would then contact the staff member who banned them, asking them if they checked the TTT Handbook for when to ban users for exploiting.
If they haven’t, I would be giving them the information, I would then ask if they gave a warning to the user in question, if the user in question ran in pre-round to the back of the nether portal or planted a C4 in the glass underneath the tester etc, the need for banning them permanently is not necessary and would simply require a verbal warning, teleportation, outright warning or slay.
I would then be sure to give this information to the staff member who banned them, and accept the accused user's appeal on the forums accordingly.
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 100 words):
I believe I should be promoted because I have shown I can handle reports appropriately as well as when someone reports myself for abuse. I have made lots of friends over the last week and I am getting quite good friends with several of the staff members, including the others who were accepted as moderators the same week I was.
Even though it may be early to apply for Administrator, I believe I have made very few mistakes, only two in fact. Regarding reasons on warnings: such as misspelling, lying as lieing, or simply putting a very long reason for a warning.
I believe I have also made it clear I am here to stay for a while, even though university is my top-priority, I have shown I am able to keep high hours in order to staff the server for everyone to have the most optimal experience. As I have previous staff experience I am able to require little retraining and still deliver with high expectations.
Extra Information: (Not Required):
I of course accept all feedback, I would not want someone who disagrees with me not say anything so I will never improve, I want to always improve no matter what feedback, if positive or negative etc.
Love,
KriZ; aka Red.
