How do you feel that your time as an administrator has contributed to becoming a super administrator:
I have held this admin rank for around 3 months now, and I have experienced all kinds of users and seen many changes. I have a good attitude and try my best to ensure every user has the best experience possible on the server, be it through staffing or helping new players to get started in a tough economy.
What makes you a good candidate for the super administrator team? ( in this part you can go as detailed as you want):
Experienced
I am currently a Head Admin on the TTT Server, and I have help this rank for a long time now - this being the 2nd of my time in the LT. This has given me experience on how to handle all LT based situations, on many scales. I have also played Zarps SSRP server since I joined back in 2017, and actively again since rejoining in 2019.
During my current time in the TTT Lead Team, I’m working endlessly and tirelessly with the other LT members to get TTT up in the world rankings again, and a large part of that is contributed to by the rankings the SSRP server holds - showing the gmod community the ZARP services. I always ensure staff are fully trained to the best level and working at their best all of the time, helping users and avoiding bans where possible.
Fair
I always use my staff powers in a fair way to all users. I always ensure I understand both sides of the story when handling an F1, and use video evidence to help make judgements. If a user is unsure I will then spend time going in depth with them to ensure they understand the rules better, and where they went wrong. New players/ first offenders will need to understand their mistakes if they are to learn from them.
Active
I play the server actively throughout the week, handling as many F1s as I see come through. My F1 count isn’t always amazing, and I am first to admit that, but I spend time in each one, and never rush them to get it done quickly. I actively staff while RPing, making sure that any ongoing rulebreaks are dealt with there and then, preventing the need for F1s to be submitted. My forums activity is primarily TTT related, but I do chip in to SSRP related situations where I can, to offer feedback or my opinion on a suggestion. Similarly, I am also active on the teamspeak server everyday and help any users who may come onto the teamspeak with questions, and I help them as best as I can or direct them to the relevant persons.
Explain a situation as an administrator you encountered that was an obstacle that required the help of a lead team member but you had to work around it when no lead team member was available:
The only situation I can reference here is when there are hackers online. LT would be needed to conduct an anti-cheat then follow the policy usually, but SSRP does have the added bonus of ‘request anti-cheat’. However, this moment I sent an anti-cheat and there was no active LT at the time to look at the request. Had I been a SA, I would have been able to check, and verify, any of my suspicions. I punished accordingly on the users other rulebreaks, before he left the server. His actions affecting the experience of some, with jails and warnings the only way to handle it. It slowed his actions, but still had the impact on the players.
Explain how you would review and handle an abuse report against another staff member:
I would look at any evidence posted on the thread and contact the user who made the report and gather as much information as I could to gain the best idea of what happened and what caused the report to be made. I would then contact the reported staff member and ask them about the situation and explore to gain a better image and collate both stories, find the similarities and work to eliminate/ establish the reasons for any differences. I would then reply to the report abuse to tell the user the verdict, and take the appropriate action from there - be it bringing the staff member up in the LT Meeting, having a little chat or taking no action. Below is an example of an accepted report:
Accepted:
Hello Player X
Thankyou for your report and after reading through it and reviewing all of the evidence you have provided, I have come to a conclusion. I have spoken to the staff member reported, to gain a better understanding of the situation and in this circumstance, they were in the wrong. They would like to apologize for any harm caused and they now fully understand their mistakes. Any further issues will be result in further action ebig taken, thank you for the report! Sorry from all at ZARP!
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member bans a user for an excessive amount of time, how do you approach the staff member to ensure that everyone is treated fairly?
I would ask the staff member to come on TS or Discord so I could easily talk to them, however a chat via admin chat would be fine. I would then ask them the factors/ reasons that led to the ban length they chose. I would then advise the staff member on how long the ban should have been, and that the length of time they chose was excessive. I would then advise the staff member they should think about lowering, and if needed do it myself, the ban length and watch further bans the staff member issues to ensure they are of appropriate length and inline with ethos.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member is dealing with a user but is struggling to do so in an appropriate manner. How would you resolve the situation?
I would help them by using the ‘guided learning’ technique to help them discover the right/ best way to deal with the issue. If needed I would message them personally to remind them of the policies and ethos the staff team use and follow and tell them that they can message any member of the staff team/ LT if help is needed in the future rather than struggling. Questions are never a bad thing, and it’s better for them to ask for help rather than struggle.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member accuses another staff member of breaking rules, how would you help resolve the situation?
I’d ask for any evidence that may be held of the staff member breaking the rules, be it screenshot or a preferably a video. I would review the evidence to see if a rule was broken and decide what further action should be taken. If a rule was broken I would speak to the staff member and tell them they broke a rule, explain what they did and tell them they will not do it again. Depending on the severity, I would bring up during the LT meeting or just note it down for future reference on the contact sheet.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member acts in a disrespectful manner towards another staff member and or sparks an argument within the staff team. How do you resolve the situation?
I would speak to the 2 staff members involved and ask them to calm/ cool down and take a break if needed. I would find out the spark of the situation and speak to both staff members to find out their side of the story to try and fully understand the situation in as much detail as possible, and to make sure the spark is fully eliminated. I would then remind them that they are part of a united staff team and we should all respect each other and any issues should be brought to a LT member rather than causing friction and casing arguments. I would then invite both staff members onto TS to sort it all out and apologize to eliminate anything remaining, if necessary. If one user does not wish to forgive it will be noted and brought up in the next LT meeting.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
You spot a staff member breaking rules to the point of harming other users, how do you approach the staff member?
I would alert them in admin chat to stop what they are doing instantly as it is impacting the playing experience of users on the server. I would ask them to come onto TS to talk about it in more detail and apologise to the users on the server who were affected. Depending on the rulebreak, I would issue a verbal warning on the spot to the staff member and tell them it's not going to happen again or further action will be taken, linking them the rules and remind them that while it may have been accidental it did harm the experience of users on the server. In the most extreme of rulebreak I would sanction further, including an emergency demotion when absolutely necessary.
All feedback appreciated, rather than negative feedback post constructively please! DM me any negatives you feel I need urgent work on! LT please send me feedback after LT meeting - will message each to ask for pointers! Thanks for read! Also, I appreciate I posted it late on but I have been busy this week with works resumption among other things and had to consider a few things before applying!
