Explain how you feel that your time as a Moderator will contribute to you becoming an Admin:
I believe I have vast amounts of knowledge in staffing, especially with how to deal with rulebreakers in a calm and professional manner. I am more than comfortable with the commands I have at my disposal as Moderator and believe being promoted to Administrator would only increase my value as a staff member, as I would be given more tools to make sure the server stays a fun and friendly environment and wouldn't have to rely on other Admins to ban people when I'm not able to due to my rank.
Explain a situation in which it would be appropriate to use the ban command:
There are a plethora of situations in which using the ban command may be necessary. However, this would be the LAST resort for me personally, using the ban command would mean I have exhausted all of my other options such as mutes, warns and gags but the individual is continuing to break rules in some way shape or form, such as being discriminatory or perhaps constantly ghosting.
If you had to write a letter to train a moderator in between 100-200 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?:
Hi there
[Name],
First of all I would like to congratulate you on your success in being promoted to Moderator, this is a very exciting step which comes with a whole host of commands and responsibilities, but it's really very straight forward when you get the hang of it.
First of all I'd like to start of by saying as a member of the staff team on Prop Hunt, we would like our staff to exhaust all of their options before using commands such as
[Kick] or
[Ban]. However, you won't have access to the ban command. We like to give our users a chance to redeem themselves and not punish too harshly for rulebreaks that don't affect others too much, with that said lets get onto the commands that you have at your disposal.
Important Notice
Please try to avoid using
"Gag" and
"Mute" instead replace them with
"tgag" and
"tmute" as this allows you to put a reason for the mute / gag and a time.
!warn
This command allows you to warn an individual, this can be used if an individual isn't responding to mute, gags or slays and needs a harsher punishment. When warning an individual it will automatically kick them after they get 3 warnings, and then ban after 5.
"tgag"
This command allows you to gag the player, meaning said player wouldn't be able to speak using their microphone for the given time that you provide. This is used in instances were the individual is being discriminatory and or spamming their microphone.
"tmute"
This command allows you to mute the player, meaning said player wouldn't be able to type in the chat for the given time that you provide, similarly to tgag this would be used when the individual is being discriminatory and or spamming in chat.
psay
This command will allow you to privately message an individual, this is a great way to let someone know they may be in an exploited area, without telling the entire server!
webtauntmute / webtauntunmute
This command allows you to strip the individual from the ability to use custom web taunts, this would primarily be used when an individual is using a discriminatory web taunt.
slay
This command allows you to slay (kill) the individual, this would be used in instances were the individual is door blocking or is in an exploited area.
bring/goto
Bring allows you to bring the individual to your current location and goto allows you to go to a players current location, this can be helpful if an individual is stuck.
teleport
Teleport allows you to move an individual to where their crosshair is aiming at, this is very useful if the individual is stuck / bugged.
checkspec
This command allows you to see who an individual is spectating, this can be very useful in order to find out whether someone is ghosting and giving information to their friends (this command works best in combination with "friends")
friends
This command gives you a list of who an individual is friends with on the server at that given time, this is best used to find out if people are ghosting and should be used in combination with the "checkspec" command.
kick
This command allows you to kick the individual from the server, this is very rarely used and if this is used it should be used as a last resort, as muting, gaging, warning or slaying are more effective as eventually the individual will get automatically kicked after 3 warnings.
fspec
This command allows you to force the individual to spectator, this is rarely used as the server does this automatically after a while, but if for some reason it doesn't. You can use this to put AFK players into spectator mode.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that Staff Member x banned them permanently for Exploiting, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
Firstly, I would make it clear that I am handling the appeal "by replying on the post", I would then contact the staff member that banned him and come to some sort of conclusion on what we can do and if we could potentially reduce or even remove the ban, I would then reply with.
Hi there
{Player X}, I have spoken to
{Staff Member X}, and we have both come to an agreement to remove the ban that was placed on you as this is your first ban and you seem very sinecere in your appeal, I would suggest reading over the rules and being careful not to be in any exploited areas in the future, also don't be afraid to ask staff if a certain area is considered exploiting or not. Have a great day!
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 100 words):
Knowledge
As I have been staff on multiple Zarp servers, I believe this has greatly contributed to my knowledge of how to handle situations in a professional, calm and friendly manner. I have copious amounts of knowledge with commands and how to use them in the right way, whilst not punishing people too harshly but also not letting people get away with things.
Active
I believe I'm fairly active on Prop Hunt, and am always open to come on the server if I'm required e.g. If someone messages me on steam, discord or if I'm on Teamspeak at that given time. During my times on the server I also have a very active presence in the spectator mode to make sure nobody is ghosting or has an unfair advantage.
Trusted
I'm currently holding 2 ranks, being Section Moderator and Prop Hunt Moderator, and believe I've shown that I can be trusted when given certain amounts of power to fulfil my duties and not have a biased, or largely unprofessional attitude.
