Why should I be a Head Admin
I believe that I would be a good Head Admin for the TTT for many reasons. I have gone into details on some of them below:
Experience
I have been a Super Admin now for around 2 months which seems a short time. However, I have held LT roles for significant periods of time in the past, with around 1 year as SA/ HA in my last long-term involvement with ZARP. I have also hosted meetings in the past, this can allow me to confidently host in the future should there be no one free to host that evening. I also have experience in coding with LUA, which I spent time using and learning during my 2-year break from ZARP, which I can use to help on the server should it be required. Although my knowledge is basic at the moment, I am working daily on improving my knowledge and ability with it.
Dedication & Activity
TTT was the first server I joined of the ZARP community way back in September 2016. Since then I had a spell of 1 and a half years in the staff team, before taking a short break and returning in July of 2019. My latest period has been intermittent, with a long period of inactivity when I broke my PC, however, I have stayed true and continued to play and help out wherever I could - attending meetings with my phone where possible. Since returning to full activity, I have helped in many ways other than general staffing. I have been on the test server to help JimJam test new additions for both servers - both new items and gun damage config. Becoming a HA again would allow me to continue doing this in even more detail, and on a more regular basis (hopefully).
In terms of my activity, I consistently get over the requirement and since becoming a member of the Lead Team I have kept up that level of activity, alongside completing my weekly LT duties to the best standard and as soon as I can. This has allowed any further, necessary action to be taken. I always try my best to attend every meeting, and when I do I speak openly with my opinion and ensure all facts are considered. I also respond/ counter points with other staff should it be required. I am always on the Teamspeak server and respond very quickly with any issues PM’d to me by both users and fellow staff members.
My activity on the forums has improved in recent times, handling appeals/ report abuses myself, or handing them down to new administrators and helping them to handle them and produce a fair outcome. Whenever I handle something, I always try to provide a detailed response to allow the user to fully understand my outcome and this is something I encourage staff to do when I assist them with reports.
Attitude
I have a friendly and fair attitude at all times while on the server, on the forums and on the TeamSpeak. When a player joins the server for the first time I offer them a hand and guide them in the right direction. This helps them in many ways - making them feel accepted into the community and decreasing the likelihood of future rule breaks to name a few. I also aid staff, both standing and newly accepted, should they have any issues, need support and or guidance in a situation to the best of my ability. As mentioned in my SA application, I always try to be as fair as possible with all situations and tend to use the more lenient punishment where applicable. I am very forgiving, and if a user RDMs me I very often get the handling admin to open a chat and ensure the user is aware of the rule break, then ask for a verbal/ forgive them.
Why do I want Head Admin & my plans going forward
As a Head Admin, I will continue to build closer relationships within the staff team and monitor them to ensure they carry out their roles to a high standard. This will help raise standards across all ranks, leading to a better experience for all users on the server. I will also encourage staff to allow second chances on new users, within reason, to reduce needless punishments where a small chat/ verbal and some advice could help the user avoid making this mistake again.
I will continue to regularly check up on the newly accepted staff. This is something I did previously as Head Admin, and something I currently do as a Super Admin and plan on doing even more in the future. I regularly take appeals/ report abuses and allow new Admins to handle them. I offer them constant support throughout the process to ensure they understand everything they do during it and answer any questions they may have. I often do this as the second part of training for new staff/ those I have assisted in the training.
I will regularly assist in helping the current staff team in even more detail, helping to remove warnings which are issued accidentally or from an accepted appeal. I will also be able to offer better anti-cheats when helping deal with hackers on the server, as there have been times in the past where the standard anti-cheat has come back clean and there are no head admins available to come and offer a better one, something which I hope to be able to resolve.
As mentioned in my Super Admin application, I will continue to work with my fellow LT members to raise the standards of the current staff team, giving staff members a little nudge in the right direction before further sanctions are required. I regularly work with some members of the current LT to work on new ways to ensure the staffing is at the best level it can be, looking at new ways for us to ensure staff are working at their full potential.
As a whole, I wish to work closely with the current LT and the staff team as a whole to create the best, most efficient and fair staff team possible. I want everyone to work together as a team, with a sound knowledge of the server and how it runs, allowing all punishments handed out to be fair and within the ethos. I will work to ensure that everyone is working to the best of their ability, and set a bar to try and push staff to their full potential while rewarding those who are ensuring the players are having the best experience on the server. Overall, my main aim is to ensure staff, users both new and old have the best experience possible on the server.
Please don't kill me for applying! I appreciate all the work Darling did but the current situation within the LT, I feel it's appropriate for me/ someone to apply for the HA role and keep the standards at the same level and for a HA to be made regularly available within the UK timezone. A UK based HA for the UK hosted server is vital in my opinion, especially considering the current situations within these ranks, which I won't state here. I wish to allow a fair workload for all, especially due to the increased demand during COVID-19.
