After carefully reading through the appeal and reviewing any potential evidence I would try to get in contact with the staff member that issued the punishment to find out what happened. If needed, I'd also try to get in contact with the user that got punished to get a better understanding of the situation. After collecting as much information as possible about the situation leading up to the punishment, I would analyse the information to find out wether the punishment was appropriate or not. If I am unable to get in contact with the staff member that issued the punishment (no response within 24 hours) I would need to judge the situation myself or get another teamspeak staff member involved just to be sure. After juding the situation I would post my verdict on the appeal thread. It would probably look something like this:






Teamspeak
Punishments on teamspeak mainly consist of different ways to remove users from a channel or even from the server. First offences / light breaches of the teamspeak rules will mostly result in a simple verbal warning. If the user continues to break the teamspeak rules they should be removed from the channel. This can be achieved by either moving a client into another channel or by kicking them from the channel which will automatically move them into the lobby. If a player continuesly breaks teamspeak rules or violates the terms of use they should be kicked from the server. Kicking a player forces them to manually reconnect to the server. Should a player severely breach teamspeak rules or the terms of use they should be temporarily banned from the server. Banning a player prevents them from joining the server for a certain time period. This could be a couple of hours, days, weeks but can also be permanent. Permanent bans need to be appealed in the forums. If a player gets accepted / demoted / resigns as a staff member you are able to update their server groups appropriately.

Discord
As Discord is mainly used for text communication on ZARP there are some small differences in the administrative features you need to use. Instead of kicking a client from the channel you mute them for a certain amount of time. Muting a player prevents them from typing messages in any channel temporarily. Mutes can last for minutes, hours or even days and can be appealed on the forums. A mute can be issued if a player spams messages, harasses other players or uses racist terms. Discord also allows staff members to remove certain messages. This can be used on offensive messages or spam. If the player repeadetly breaches the discord rules or terms of use they can be kicked or banned as explained above in the teamspeak section. Just like on teamspeak, you can update a players server groups to give / revoke access to certain text channels for staff members.



I am active on teamspeak and discord on a daily basis. I would make sure to enforce the terms of use and the teamspeak / discord rules just like I am doing right now as a teamspeak staff member. Additionally I would make sure that other teamspeak staff members behave appropriately and know how to use their powers. I would actively train new teamspeak staff members and keep the other staff ranks on teamspeak / discord accurate. I am frequently attending teamspeak meetings and I will continue to do so if possible. My goal is to keep the teamspeak / discord servers a nice place to talk to other members of the community.
